Majulah Singapura, Our Golden Jubilee

Background Story:
So I positioned myself at Esplanade end of the Jubilee Bridge with tripod and remote control release and black card for long exposure for the Fireworks this evening. This lady beside me was squeezing in to place her tripod as well. She was using 7D Mk2 for her shoot. The fireworks became very smoky after the first few shots went up and many complaints of "overexposure" could be heard. As I was reviewing my shots on my camera screen, she peeked over my shoulder and said,"wait wait, scroll back one, that one looked very nicely done." Then she proceeded to ask what camera was I using. I said I was using Canon 450D, which was at least half a decade old. Then she asked very sarcastically saying, "I using a new camera which I bought last week, why can't my camera take better shots than yours?" I replied saying maybe it was cause of luck. Then she went on saying that it was unfair that a "lousy" camera like mine (pointing to mine) could take a better picture than her new 7D Mk2. Then she asked the old man beside her if it is possible to refund the camera since she only bought it last week. The very experienced old man, whom I have spoken to briefly before her arrival, was very embarrassed by her loud claims of a lousy camera taking better photos than her highly advanced camera. The old man proceeded to say, "you have only picked up photography recently, why don't you ask him (pointing to me) how long has he been doing photography?" I replied, "Experimenting with Fireworks as many years old as my LOUSY Canon EOS 450D" then I packed up and moved away after that.
TL;DR Sometimes it is not the equipment that takes good photographs. Making a good photograph comes with hard work, planning and experience.
