Hi Guys... after seeing the raving reviews earlier in this thread on the 105mm f2.5 AIS, I found one last weekend in Tokyo that looks perfect, very clean glass, etc and bought it. Tested it over the weekend and I like what I see so far. When I find some time back home I'll try and do some tests.

Not been posting in this thread some time alr..

In the mean time just added a E series 28mm f2.8 to my collection

Now i have got the 28, 35, 50, 100 of the E series.. short of only one more :bsmilie:

Also got a 1.6X nikon manual TC. :)

Just wonder how come no one mention about the Zeiss ZF 35mm f2.0 (Nikon mount). Heard that it is good but it is damn expensive.

too ex. the MF lenses here are cheaper and still performs really well.

i am still thinking if i should get a 28mm f/2.8 AIS. heard it is better than the AF 28mm f/2.8. Of coz the best of 28mm Nikon should be AF 28mm f/1.4.

i am still searching for the pancake lens thou.... :dunno:

the 45P you mean. It is expensive. In Japan, a good 2H lens is about 500sgd.

seldom see it in singapore, even in msia, i tried searching around also... hard luck...

i am looking for the silver version. the black one looks too flimsy for me also. :bsmilie:

the black one actually looks better, both are made the same.

That's not the problem I have now, but how to focus fast enough to take street photos with that thing! My hands are not AFS yet, but training it to be.

i also cannot focus properly. tried a few lenses and manage to get sharp photos @ f4.0 widest only. anything wider than that will be a big problem to me even with a split-image microprism. and that is my prob! hee

I see.. no split focusing for me.. Restricts my composing.

Just rely on when i see thru the viewfinder. ;)

Digital or film?

Digital or film?

Just saw that Katz Eye Optics makes split prism focusing screen for the D series... interesting. But then again, when shooting digital can always "bracket" the focus. I

ts just that when shooting film wide open it takes a lot of luck. I've had my share of nice composition, but misfocused that little bit. And no amount of Photoshoping can help there.

That is a very good question how does the old timer(pre AF time) do it. :dunno:
