Just picked up the FE 55/1.8. Quick question for those who got it

There's a few type of people. I would be in sentimental type.... as in more likely to keep things for sentimental values... like my first eos slr film. That is over 10 and going strong.

And use it till expired.

I shoot slides previously and itch to shoot it when I have time again.....

While I do not expect it to last forever..... the min is 5 years at least. My 400D still in use as of now.... my first dslr....

Then keep use it, need no to jump in sony

If you looking for FF and still compact enough, nothing beats RX1-R. IQ is very close to the A7R. The 35mm F2 lens is one of the best 35mm lens available.

If not, go for APS-C Fuji X series. Best APS-C, especially the new X-T1.

I was considering a more compact one that is more portable... That's why... but as of now... KIV...

Thanks bro for the recommendation... I decided to KIV the compact for the moment... Not enough time to shoot with DSLR even...

I do like Fuji body a lot compared to the A7... just thought it was more classy... A7R advantage is the Zeiss...

Was looking at X100, RX1-R, A7R, X-E2, Eos M previously...

Ya... EOS M sensor is ok... and APSC... and easy to fit my EF lens with an adapter... I have some EF lenses, so EOS M was logical in a way.. I was thinking it have a 22mm lens = 35mm POV....

Plus, size and the price seems good... Now, RRP is $559 for EOS M w/22mm + adapter... so it is a good deal. Not sure what will be the street price, as I now, shop have no stock... But I have not tried the AF of EOS M yet... and the shutter lag.... If I want to buy, then I will try it out....

*Any Cam, most important is the image. EOS M image is ok.. the AF and Shutter lag is not good I heard.. but the lack of manual control was what stopped me....

Unfortunately electrical thing tends to speed up the landfill. Mechanical stuff however, I tend to treasure them...I still keep an old M4-P and M6 in my Bangkok home, and a bunch of old fountain pens that I still occasionally use.

Seeing that you wanna stay off the wagon but yet you frequent this poison pit with all the poison snakes around so I guessed you wanna be poison after all. If so, mai tu liao just BBB and join in the fun. Give your head a rest and go with your heart, then you'll be alright :)

I try my best to avoid dumping to the landfill, and our earth is in serious bad state.... Our food supply will soon be an issue too.... I did not get a mechanical camera, sadly.... Did thought of buying one used one....

Visiting poison pit doesn't mean I will be poisoned. Sorry, but I doubt the snakes here have enough venom.... I will be keeping up with users' feedback and aware of the latest in technology... and chit chat... a break from the physical world...

the controls on the EOS-M are quite counter-intuitive.

i didn't like them when i was using it. felt so confusing. the AF speed is quite terrible as well.

Resources are limited, and Photography is a luxury...

I already have a 6D, a FF, so I am just considering a compact system for it worth....

We all go through our rational for purchase... of course, for some who have the might, they can have M9, etc... 2, 3 or more systems... and if they like to scorn others who cannot afford, then, it is also their rights, since they have "Make it" in life...

But life is not just about self indulgence, nor hobby, nor interest nor satisfaction. It is not uncommon for people to feel that way... when their world revolve around SELF only.... everyone have their own commitment, and their own story.

Our life have much more to just enjoyment, but how many of us actually try to find out our mission?

Materials, photo, cameras, good food, money, status, power, beauty, looks, body, etc are all nothing but distraction in our fleeting world... but it is not uncommon to see many enslaved to it....

I myself is just a journey man... seeking to understand more....

Behind every photo, it is a story. Behind every Nick here, it is a book of story. We do not know every fine details of all the stories here, and since we are here, it is fated perhaps, so let's just enjoy the fun and joy as we getaway from our physical world.

well said! more is not necessarily better.
sometimes, being satisfied with what one already have bring the most joy.

Is it? I read canon user should be easy to use. May be cos you never used canon dslr?

I can shoot with n and c.... and took a while to get use to n menu too....

Picture quality is good and price is very good too. Below $500 can get kit 1.... bnh most reviews are hsppy cos price plus the have canon lens....

I hv not try so I do not know yet how slow the AF. Was it after or before firmware update?

We tend to take things for granted. Like in Singapore is so safe and water aplenty and food supply is sufficient..... we waste what is life and death to others.

We should cherish what we have at every moment. And be appreciative. Easier to say than do...
