I see... Then what about "colours, tones, sharpness" all that when you use standard?

erm when i use F2..i just leave it as it is...didnt upped the colour, tone and sharpness cos i find them ok...but for std u may have to increase them depending on preference

If you join us during this coming Fujifilm F.U.N. outing in April, I will show you how and when to use the various film simulation modes. ;)

I just joined the dark side....
Now the question is should i keep my old trusty D70...
Or should i let it RIP?

Let me know when you RIP it, I will give it a proper burial :)

You should let go of yours as well.... The colours are really good. But haven't really figured out how to use it properly. Had to use photoshop to colour correct.

Looks like I have to heat up more irons during the April F.U.N. outing.

Just sold my trusty D50 last nite, a bit heartache, it's the first ever camera that I own (previously I dont even own a P&S)......went back first thing last nite, took it out, cleaned cleaned cleaned...feel feel feel.....said my proper goodbyes. If not for so many things that I want to buy I would have kept it as my 2nd body..........well, that said and done, I will be collecting my S5 tonight....will have a late nite again today RTFM (Read The Freaking Manual! ) and playing with the cam, lucky I'm not working tomorrow

Cheers

No need to read the manual lah. Operation-wise is quite similar to your beloved D80.

Just log onto ClubSnap and ask questions as you play along with your S5 Pro. Make sure you don't drool along the process. ;)

Got many F.U.N. sifu here to spoon-feed newbies (Jacob will probably feed newbies with 0.02 cents worth of the spoon). Remember to put on your feeding nappy.

Oh.... before you ask all of us why the images from the S5 Pro looks underexposed compare to those from your D80, this is normal. It is the extended dynamic range at work. Just increase the exposure compensation by +0.7 EV, or adjust the exposure (Level setting) during post-processing.

Very similar to the D70 always underexposed... Until i changed the curve in the camera...
Still not too sure about the settings to shoot with on the S5. Whether to use film simulation or standard...

Serious??
So you just set on "P" and shoot?

errrr not really la.

i use varieties from M to A to S. P only when i want someone to use my S5pro to shoot me or when i'm lazy. .:bsmilie:

most of the time White Balance is in auto.

my 1 cent worth.

I see... I like using A... M only once in a while.
Its so hard to find a 2nd hand Mb-D200

not really hard to get D200. it's only the cost.

if bet you'll find one easily if you post in buy n sell section titled "WANTED: NIKON MB-D200. WILLING TO PAY UP TO $250". i'm sure you'll catch some. try and see.

Well i was thinking more towards the $175 range lol....
Any one tried the phottix brand?

sellers will think twice of letting it go at that price since MB-d200 is so scarce nowadays.

maybe $200 might help.

I got the MB-D200 recently and like the handling as it is ergonomically designed for extended stability.

However, the Plastic cover that protect the pins was missing. Wonder if I can get it or not? Doubt Nikon would sell it.

Anyway, I guess I would have kept the grip on my S5 4ever, so it should not be any problem then.

This might sound stupid... But is the screen protector the same as a D200?
I put in my cam bag, in out a few times. And now i see like a scratch on it knn....
.

Yes, they are the same (except for the word Fujifilm), but cheaper than Nikon's.

I visited Fujifilm during lunch time and got myself 1 battery and 2 Screen Protector. A bit kiashu here. Trying to stock up in case they are not available next time.

PM me if u wanna know the price for the Screen Protector. Shhhhhhhhh......We are not allow to talk about price related topic here. They were watching us leh.;p
