Joy camera shop at funan, felt so cheated. But I don't know what to do.

Thanks for the heads up. Glad everything is good for you now.

However just one thing .. why is 13 a good shutter count?
I bought my D300, D300s, D700, D7000, D3, D3s ... all have a SC of 1 when i fired my first shoot at home.
Checked on Exif Viewer on PC

Actually, in factory, their QC might do some test shots to the cameras. Not all cameras would go through this test... more like the QC would randomly select a few out of a whole batch of camera manufactured that day or that week (depending on company's policy) to do such test. So normally shutter count of not more than 15 is acceptable.

Glad all went well. Since the store is selling a kit set without the lens, one should not be surprised about the shutter count as the lens is likely to have been fitted n tested before being removed especially if there is a buyer for the lens and also in this case, the store would not want to accidentally give gecko365 a camera tt doesn't work well resulting in more complaints, hence probably tested it before he arrived.

Still, it marks an almost permanent black mark due to bad customer service while settling the complains initially....
If I were to have $1.5k hanging around in the shop while the product is not with me, I would feel very uncomfortable...

Hey there.
I called them ytd after afternoon around 2pm+ and ask about, they say give me new set with SG-warranty card.
Sunday was the D7000 body box.

Ytd Went to the shop around 7pm+ with friend, i check serial number print on the box-body and warranty card and all is the same number, check the contents too, and all is inside.

My friend bring laptop & sd card. I use my own lens to do the testing. Shutter count the 1st frame is 13, meaning thats its NEW body. Use opanda to check the count.

Free gifts are the normal 8gb sandisk card and the cheapo Nikon bag. I bought a vanguard-27 camera bag before but i sold it to my co-worker as its kinda small for me.

The new D7000 is inside the kit lens box, they remove the lens.

My friend is newbie to dslr, i told him to install software that i need.
Sunday he got a 2nd hand 60D with 18-135mm at a good price, from clubsnap. I went with him to buy and test.

Big Thanks Everyone!

i was wondering whether the shop will try to sell the set that you just returned.

Its the 2nd and last time i will go there and buy things.
In my blacklist already.

To playstation76, there is nothing wrong in re-selling the set returned as a grey set, no warranty. Furthermore, it was not really used as they took it away from Gecko365. The gist of the whole issue was the grey set was passed off as a local set with local warranty. The bad service and attitude followed through from there. Nothing wrong with the camera.

Grey set? More likely waiting for the next victim to sell as local...
If it's really genuine local set, local NSC should be able to rectify this problem easily for the shop right?

I been to that shop before. Same tactics, when I sounded my intention to purchase the item, he suddenly say must add GST, this not included and stuff. I walked out immediately. About 2 years later, I stupidly went back to the same shop again, totally forgot about my initial experience with them. Saw this bag I like and he quoted me $200 for it, but because I hesitated for very long, he slashed his price down to $35!!! I was thinking to my self then, wah!!! You think I vegetable head, yo can sell for $35 yet you quote me $200 in the beginning. That's where Deja vu set in and it all came back. I quickly walked out of the shop.

Be careful, I think we all learn can learn from each other experiences here. I seriously hope the shop close down 1 day.

Hey.
I was on the phone with Nikon 10mins ago, the replacement set is CONFIRM a singapore set.
The SERIAL number came from "BALLY PHOTO ELECTRONICS PTE LTD", Nikon check it up for me. I was like that shop again!!

***Suspect that Joy and BALLY PHOTO ELECTRONICS PTE LTD have the same owner and use different company names to hide their tactics, cant believe it. If not why tell me to wait and come back 10mins later while he go and take stocks.

These guys are cheat. I was about to fall into their trap when I got my D90. Buy ur stuff only from the dealers listed at Nikon website

Joy & Bally might not be the same owner but instead friendly business relationship. Joy is not authorize dealer so has no choice to take stock from some other dealer with slightly lower profit.

The list doesn't mean anything, Bally photo is also an authorised dealer. You want to by from them?

I also nearly kena one big time with this Joy Shop early this year when I was about to get the Tokin 14-24mm len from them. Luckily, I walked away fast hand fast leg after sensing some fishy behaviour. I managed to get a local warranty set at Alan Photo 20steps away with a price tag S$100 cheaper than Joy Shop.
