For me 5D already enough cos my iBook with CS2 only support up to 1DmkIIn, 5D and 30D. It is not wise for me to get a 5DmkII or 40D because I need to change my iBook to MacBook and CS2 to CS3...

My iBook has gone through good and bad times with me and definately with stay till its life ends...

For me it doesn't matter cos i never PS so any cam is not an issue.

To me lens is more impt, camera body is secondary.

the most worthy investments in Canon products are the lenses, the body are bleeding u poor products~~ year after year the values dries up..

I should say that most of the revenue comes from lenses, not the DSLRs.

Already have 2 great L lenses... Camera body is next for me... ;)

forces canon to be on the balls..~~ ;p

You don't PS because you're happy with the job that the 'any cam' automatically does for you ;)

Yes. That's also why i buy Ls to help me get the best out of it cos i really don't like to PS.

u have stopped your lens donation to canon by now~~ haa

That's right, unless there's really a need to upgrade again. Next for me is donation to a new FF DSLR.

Going to get a couple L lenses hopefully by next month. Do you think it would be wise to buy the EF 24-70mm f2.8L and the EF 70-200mm f2.8L to cover most of the focal length which I intended to do? I have seen people whom have zoom lenses that cover most of the focal length and yet they still buy prime lenses with focal length that is within what's available in the zoom lenses. May I know why? Thanks!

Prime lens are usually sharper and faster...(If you know exactly what you are going to shoot, prime will be good) Zooms are better for events generally when you can't move in or out freely sometimes.

Faster (bigger) aperture, higher IQ, better bokeh/shallower DOF are just some of the reasons.

It all boils down to your budget and your overall needs. The two lenses you mentioned are one of the best amongst their class in terms of build and image quality and give you excellent coverage from 24mm to 200mm.

In general, zooms = convenience factor, primes = sharpness and image quality. Choose according to what you are going to use them for eventually.

those 2 zooms are some of best zooms in canon..

prime lenses provide very sharp n crisp images, plus they can shoot @ high shutter speed in big aperture and low light situations, the bokeh effect is very beautiful if u use equipment correctly. =)
