The last time I heard the B-300 is selling at abt $280 at AP and that's b4 CNY.
 

allo all,

bought the camera two days ago. found 3 green spots ( should be dead pixels) and brought back to AP for change.

the second one shows a green colour pixel and vertical lines in low light condition ( exposure less than a second ). but green pixel is not shown when i do the dead pixel check using the lens cap. i also have found out when i focus to object with bright background there will be red vertical lines on the LCD screen. but the lines are not shown in the photo taken.

may i know what is the problem and should i bring back for change again?

Yes, change it. Your LCD got problem.

If AP reluctant to change bring to Oly Sg and demand a replacement on the spot (or at least fix that LCD lah...then ask for firmware upgrade...).
 

In my country Greece , when i got the camera i had also one stucked green pixel , i send the camera for service and they replace the CCD in Portugal ..
The point is that when i asked and new firmware on demand they wan to charge me for it 117.5 $ US ..
Thanks God they did it in Portugal by them selfs .

I will be going to Olympus Sg today to check with them. If it is comfirm that is the camera faulty i will try to demand for a change of a new unit. Going back to AP would be the last choice cause it is pretty far from my place.

Actually the I am quite satisfied with the new camera but wonder is it something wrong with the quality control of Olympus? Maybe my luck is not good enough:)

will post again when i come back from Olympus sg:)

All CCDs have at least a few bad pixels.....just that some have more than the rest.
 

just came back from Olympus Sg. met Mr. Goh and told him about my problems. according to him, the red vertical lines that appear when focus at object with bright back ground is normal for digital cam. he said he would check the camera for me and try to get it done in these few days.

found out that date of purchase had been written on my warranty card after i left there. so now there is no where i could claim the 1 to 1 exchange from AP anymore even if the camera is found to be faulty. So hope Olympus Sg will change a new one for me if the camera is spoilt.

any one encouter the same red vertical line prob as i do?

That is interesting! Never notice the red line. What is he saying, he can remove the red line for you?

I got a 1-to-1 replacement from Oly Sg after I complain that the IS lens of my c-2100uz is making too much noise..... it turned out that the noise is normal, though, but they change it nevertheless. 8-p
 

he said it is normal for digital cam to have the red vertical lines. so that means cannot be removed one loh..:(. u can try to point ur camera to a light and press focus see whether u got the same red lines or not:). hope u dont.

if there is really any prob with the camera i hope they would replace one for me. sigh....just bought it 4 days ago man...:(
 

Will test out tonight. Just point at any light source and observe the LCD right?
 

point to any light source and focus on it. hope u dont have it cause it is very annoying.

i am considering to ask for change cause it looks really bad when taking shot of an object/ people with strong back light, such as taking shot of a person standing at the door from the inside of a house.

paiseh. did not know what is seed until i read the thread on the forum page. think it is some kinda shopping for getting equipment right?:) dont think can make it as the new digital cam has burned a big hole in my pocket. i am still a student:) some more need to rush for my final year project report.. sigh..

how much does a macro filter 4 c2100 cost? can i get it any cheaper by joining u all for SEEDS this wed? i want one that can take the face of insects one... can see their wrinkles even better... or see whether they r male or female...
