Last I know, they take a lot of stocks from TK and Alan Photo.

Haha I experienced this one. I went to TK to ask for a particular Sirui tripod, they don't have it so I went to J3:16. The sales guy says "no problem, I go take it from our storeroom". Saw him walk all the way down to TK then walk all the way up then tell me "no stock" I don't know want to laugh or cry:bsmilie:

Haha I just ask them why their storeroom is at level 2 not at the shop. They say share the room lol, then I walk away already.

haha, the whole mall is their "storeroom"

seems like inter-shop buying is a norm... cant they just call their "storeroom"?

A friend bought his 600D from Jo316 last IT Fair, and CSC honored the redemption of the crumpler bag.

Does this means that you can redeem for the crumpler bag no matter.when you bought the camera? Anyway to check if I am entitled for the redemption?

You can try but I have a feeling its for cameras bought during the PC show period

It depensd on the period la... The promotions differ with time....

If you bought your camera during a period where there was no promotional free gift, then how to claim?

I have seen them many times buying from TK and Alan Photo.
I think they stock mostly fast moving items and if you came to look for something else they will try to get from other stores.
Of course this way, the price will be higher as you are the 2nd buyer but again they provide the service to find it for you and you have to pay for the extra service.

Since my first purchase from them, i would never patron their store. Why should we pay more to them for source the camera from whole mall, like buying a second hand set from them. And no comment on their after sales service, because you won't get anyone answer your call. Seriously have to beware of this 'famous and reputable' store.

based on date of invoice ie: date of sale

I bought my 60D from them for $1290. About $20 cheaper than their "supplier" stores... But they had the camera in store - nobody had to take escalator. :bsmilie:

It depends on certain models. They stock the "sure sell" models. And when they buy a certain model in bulk, they should have a better wholesale price.

I am just guessing

It's not the matter of what stock they have. It's the matter of authencity

When nothing goes wrong, everyone is happy. But when the **** hits the fan and something goes wrong with the camera purchase, then that's where the authencity comes in.

U can complain to canon or CASE, but they will ask you "why did you buy from an unauthorized shop then?". You got nothing to fight liao

Seriously, CASE only protects those who buy from authorized dealer? Can anyone confirm that?

Guys... sometimes they buy the stock at cost price from Bally Photo lah... dun worry, it is safe one... let's say Bally have a lot of stocks, as they take direct from Canon, they also distribute to other smaller players, the other smaller players are free to sell you at below list price or list price. You still get the free gift from that period. Not used goods lah.

Hi Guys,

Just called up CSC to check on the online warranty and PwP. I got my 60D from J316 and was just calling CSC to check their opening timing for tomorrow. Also asked them about collecting the 6 million dollar crumpler bag when I do the online warranty thingie.

To my surprise, the service person over the phone informed me that J316 is not an authorised dealer so I am not entitled to the free gift neither am I entitled to the PwP.

Is this misinformation? I was told my J316 that it will not be problem collecting direct from CSC.

Any advice?

The person on the Canon side gave you wrong info. They have many new staff that don't know everything, sometimes anyhow say. Where ever you buy from, if there is a crumpler bag for free & you have not got it, you should redeem it from Canon at Harbourfront.
