This is unfortunate to hear TS. I bumped into him several times in Funan on weekdays afternoons so maybe you like to stake out there and confront him when you see him.

I heard other people who are in the same predicament as you. Maybe you all can contact each other and arrange to go make a police report together. One person making a report may have no effect but if more people come out and report against him together, I think the Police may have a valid reason to call him up for investigation.

I bet Sam is monitoring this thread closely. I highly suggest all people who are in the same situation as TS contact TS via PMs and arrange for the next course of action together in order to get your money back. The rest of us can spread the word as well. Good luck TS.

If that wimp Sam really reading this thread, then have the guts come out here and say something. If u make a mistake, be a real man and admit it, offer a solution for affected customers.

HI, Just to give some updates on this. I had filed a police report but police replied no further action as there is no evidence (???). I went Small Claim Tribunal, but the case is thrown out as this is no sales of good, so they don't have power to hear. Lesson learnt, never ever put your things in any shops to sell on your behalf (even it comes with an acknowledgement slip), as you are not protected under consumers act if the person decided to run away with your things. Damn it.

How abt CASE? now they have more authority for errant retailers.

If someone did a crime, he changed his name, get a new IC and move to a new address, the law cannot charged him for his past crime?

If so easy to run away from crime, many people will already change shop, company and remain scot free lor!

Called up CASE already. They only deal cases with "Live" company. John 316 license has expired in May 2015. Precisely, he gets scot free now. Damn it. Wrote a review in his Camera Garage, think will get deleted soon.

Just went to his Facebook page and you are right. It was deleted. It is sad that the same people he cheated are the same people he addressed as "Bro" and "Sis" and these are church goers like him who trust him as a fellow Christian.

Think the best way is to wait for him in Funan and confront him. He take his stocks from the popular stores in Funan like Alan Photo and he is there a few times a week.

I encourage all who is in the same predicament as TS to come out and share your story. Come together to discuss some alternative ways to get your money back. I suggest to make a police report together so as to push the police to look at this as a serial cheating case. Or call up the New Papers and make him and his Camera Garage famous. There are many ways to skin the cat.

Any lawyers and law enforcement officers here? Do come in and give your advice too. Can get XXXXXX Marketing involved too. Heard that he owe them a sum of money due to his sudden closure.

We need to weed out such unethical people from business so that no one else gets cheated again.

To have a case, need to have a proper documentaion, aka a consignment sales contract. From what I read so far, TS did not have a consignment sales contract.

Also CASE only deals with registered businesses. J316 is no longer a live registered business.

Please do not get other companies involved. If they want to pursue it they can do so legally. Sam owes money to many suppliers and vendors not just this one company.

Legally the owner of a shop is still liable for the business he did. Here it looks to me like an oral contract not fulfilled.

IIRC, J316 is under his father's name. Plus, if the company is a PTE LTD, debts of a company does not flow to the individual.

I think that policeman 'Narjeet' you. When you make a report and commit to a statement, that is you providing your written evidence already. Further evidence is their job to establish. How can say no further action. Seek second opinion from another Police station. Dont go NPP, go to a famous station like Cantonment Police HQ where all the big shots officers are there so the recording officer got proper people to refer the report to, go around 9.30 morning in a weekday after they changed shift and had breakfast. Dont go lunchtime the busy period. Don't mention you already make report elsewhere unless they ask you then be frank, coz they may refer you back to the first station, if they ask you further you can explain you are not happy with the way the officer deal with your report as the victim.
