John 3:16

Bro, the only issue is if direct complain to the shop, most of the complains will be deaf ears.
If complain in the forum, it will serve as an issue for others to reference.

I know it will serve as a reference for others in the forum. What I am trying to say is when you are unhappy, why not make it known then and there? I found that people while not happy will still go through the transaction and then go to the forum to complaint. Why not just make your unhappiness known to them. And if you don't get any apologies or situation does not change, vote with your feet, walk out. That will surely tell them something when the customer walk out on them while they are packing the box.

That is what I am talking about.

I see. Thanks for clarification.

we are actually so spoilt for choice here (I mean so many shops to choose from). not happy just walk out lah. action speaks louder than words.

I heard so many people complaining that they were made to wait 30 min. and then at the end still willing to buy from them. If you are really that unhappy for that long wait, don't go there since their price is not that attractive anyway as some of you have indicated.

If there is a big group of us not patronizing the store, they will eventually notice and hopefully improve on their service and attitude.

As mentioned in previous post, I am no J3:16 die-hard fan. I just don't understand the Singaporean mentality - suffer quietly and then go complaint in a forum which is not going to make any difference to them. :dunno:

I don't buy from there anymore. I asked about GF1 dual lens kit but no response. I gave up. I just want to share my previous experience here so that others know what to expect.

My recent Kata bag is bought from OP. My next pns or m4/3 system would be from OP or CP. :)

The thread seems like going no where.

Let me just sum it up for you guys:

1. John 3:16 is not the cheapest store.

2. John 3:16 does not give the best service.

Move on!

it depends on how you define 'service'; everyone has different expectations.

Based on my observation, I have to agreed that the experiences mentioned above were true.

Look, I have not given up hope on J3:16 as per my earlier thread. I enjoyed my experience with the young chaps. But I doubt I will not approach L anymore.

As said, regardless if the comments here were fair or not. Accept it humbly.

Do conduct business with Christain value, since the shop name is J3:16
1) Be sincere
2) Be Honest
3) Do not make fun of other shop (MS Color)
4) Do not make fun of earlier customers

It is more than J3:16?? as Shop's name, rite?

Parisilk has an interesting line..

"We are a family business based on family values!"

There are different family values - some will have a "chop as much as customer can afford" family value :bsmilie:

I guess nowadays consumers have alot of choice.
once in a wait I would walk pass 316 to check the price, if the price is good I would buy if not there's always AP which sometimes I got better price than 316. It's a couple of steps away.

Once I was in 316 for awhile checking out their items. I really didn't bother abt their sales man, needless to say I dun know who is Sam or whoever. They just kept talking to me as if they are on some kind of drugs. Like super 'High" and happy! that's good. After checking out the item i felt their price was abit higher than AP so I left.

My friend with me told me that they talk **** alot. Maybe for those who are technically under-inform or simply wants to have a good banter might enjoy going go 316. For me, keep it short and simple. Have then sell, if not keep quiet.

Its easy to say, "just speak up" when you were being served first. And who cares about the guy who wants to but the "S$200 bag".

But not all of us are EXTROVERTS.

Most of us try to avoid conflicts and confrontations.

In which case, my modus operandi when faced with such behaviour from ANY retailer nowadays is: just walk out of the shop.

I earned my salary so i choose how i want to spend it.

I started my hobby with J316. But i'll continue it elsewhere.

just wanted to point out my own experience. I have visited 3:16 four times before, and I have only managed to speak to a service personnel once for like 2 mins. Other times I went back there, I waited for so long until I finally just left. I don't know if the service is good, cause I got no chance to experience it, dunno if the price cheap or not cause I don't get to ask.

Maybe I look poor or smtg.

been to J316 once last yr went i wanna buy a D90.... as i was new to DSLR during that time... i visit them becos of the services they provide as what here is said. i remember i didnt wait for too long so i ask for a try on D90 as i nv hands-on to it b4. after a few click and understand the camera myself, the sales intro 450D and explain why canon is better.. and why D90 isnt gd... he keep pushing 450D to me that time which i kana dislike it. i stay firm n say thanks b4 i left ...

i would say j316 is really a gd place to visit for newbie but after sometime when we know our stuff, the choice is on our hands.

but i quite surprised to see ppl complaining abt waiting too long recently ..

So J3:16 is not good... They make you wait. They talk ****. They do not serve poor-looking people. They even ignore people who ask for things they do not have. Don't go to them anymore. Then those who value their service can get more airtime with them.
I have seen the change in the shop since Sam started taking over the running of the shop. quite a few young helpers who seem to act as though they everything and anything about cameras and the art of taking good pictures. Each one has their own point of view about which brand is good. I have always chosen to not actively listen to them. A bagful of salt always complete the trick. You know what you want and ask how much is the price. Good I take, no good I just say thanks and walk away. Its the same for every shop. Sam and Leslie would always be the first to say hi to me when I step into the shop. But most of the time, I had to wait to get served. If I have the time, I wait... If not away I go! Its your money and your choice. Good shop bad shop ... can sometimes be reffered to the same shop. They are running businesses. They work according to how long they want to saty afloat or ,for the salespeople, how long they want to stay working in that shop!
Apologies!

no shop is perfect - if you don't like john 3:16 , don't complain about it here. Go to a different shop.

Today i went there, and asked for a 400mm f/5.6 lens, for which they quoted me a certain price, and when i told them that the lens costs less at a rival shop (which is true, btw) , they matched the price AND gave me a proper discount on a Hoya filter.

See, you gotta be nice to them. If you think you know everything and they are just salesmen (which is not true, Theodore at J3:16 knows what he says), you'll never be happy anywhere. They're informed. They're people. They have their opinions. If you can't deal with it, don't complain here.

If you guys are just too technically adept for salesmen, go order from B&H or something. It might save you some money, and you don't need to deal with people who are 'less informed' than you. Realize that 70-80% of camera consumers aren't as technically proficient as many of us are, and it's the salesman's job to convince them or explain to them about camera models and whatever is related.
