Actually I have no idea why he owes you an apology. He was just commenting that its rare that people uses CPL for 52mm and he can order it for you if you wan it.

I have heard of people asking for items that costs $10 or item that costs few thousand dollars and he responded in a similar fashion. It doesn't matter big or small bucks to them.

And if you really get good C&C for your good shot of the sunset with your CPL, you shouldn't be so sensitive bro. :)

I think it depends on the approach, I think it is humiliating for that action and the sentence they used. sorry but I use 49 mm for my UWA lens so this doesn't appeal to me.

Wow this thread taught me smething abt customers..

Give them 1-word reply is not helpful, but giving too much advice/opinion is being nosey.
Don't say hello/acknowledge is rude, but greeting everone is fake.
No customer in shop is suspicious, but waiting for their turn pissed them off.
Don't pickup calls in shop is irritating, but picking up calls when serving u is not concentrating.
Forceselling something u probably don't need is dishonesty, but convincing u not to buy somehing u probably don't need is being busybody.
Informing u tat an item is nt available is not sincere, but they probably don't want to order it anyway.

And the list goes on n on.

I patronise j316, Cathay n OP in my 3yrs in photography. I've heard bad stuff abt all 3 but I rarely find them totally true. The fact is there r a lot of Internet n keyboard heroes around and humans tend to bend truth to blend into the topic or gain support.

No one says it's easy to open a shop. Cut these guys some slack.

lolz, seems like a never-ending discussion. Lets just experiment, what other topics can we talk about Jn 3:16?

Video taking and voice recording to truth?

There are no perfect shop in the world. :)

Thumbs up to Samuel from John 3:16.

Went to buy a spare battery on Tuesday, for my DSLR and accidentally, they gave me the wrong model.
When I went home and realised the battery did not fit my camera, I called Samuel and told him about it and he immediately offered to exchange it. Offered to come to my home or workplace to change it.
As I was going for holiday on Friday, and needed to rush things at work the next 2 days, I appreciated the gesture. And Wednesday night, Samuel came by my place and changed it.

Thanks Bro!

Kudo to Sam from John316 as well.

I need to be at the zoo for some shooting and want to get the 70-200mm f4 IS. Contacted the shop opposite J316 the night before the shooting at about 2100 hours but manager said closed already and offer to reserve for me for collection. Cannot make it cos the shooting is at 0900 hours but the shop opens at 1100.

Call Sam if he has the stock. Yes, was the answer and he offered to deliver to my house. Came with his "girl friend" for the delivery the every night. Superb service... and btw, he got a very pretty girl friend.... ;-)

Regards,

I second this. No perfect shop, just as there's no perfect DSLR in this world. Just one most-suitable one that fulfills your needs the most.

and all the feedbacks here

Haha... In my company, we remind our staff constantly that we should never say bad things about our competitors as it is them who makes us look better all the time or become better.

I am definitely convinced that this is true from what can be seen here in this long and highly viewed, and highly discussed thread.

Power to the TS and all bro's and sis's who contributed!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::D

Hi guys.. finally got the warranty from them. Apparently, they were so busy it slipped outta their mind to pass me my warranty.. phew.. thank God they were more than willing to help. :)

Good for you! i bought my first D5000 from Audio House in May and they took out my warranty card, claiming that they would submit for me. Only when I tried to register my camera online then I realised that I have to keep the "C" copy which was already taken out by the Audio House ppl. Called Audio House to check and they still gave me the same answer that they will submit the forms for me and there is no need to hold on to the "C" copy! Called Nikon up and was told otherwise. In the end I explained everything to Nikon and without asking further questions, Nikon gave me copy of "C" warranty card.

I was lucky in that sense because Nikon could very well refused such claims from me. And in the end, my D5000 really went kaboot because of the "advisory batch problem", without the warranty card, think my D5000 would be in storeroom now.

Anyhow, advice to all, do check your items before you leave the shop, because reputable stores like Audio House can also screw you up!

Since you are paying for the camera, you should insist on getting the warranty card. By taking away the warranty card, you have no way of knowing whether they are:
[1] trying to sell you a grey set instead by keeping you from registering with Nikon
[2] going to actually register the warranty for you

Look at the address of the shop :) many of you here might not know that they had actually shifted from 3rd floor to their current place.

I would like to share my experience too.

When I first started photography, I somehow stumbled across their shop. My impression then that shops in this kind of area is a chop shop. However, Sam proved me wrong. Our "relationship" is a on off on off kind of relationship. In 1996, I bought a PnS cam (don't think was brough from him) to shoot my new born son, but somehow I don't quite like the outcome. I requested Sam to help me sell it off. He told me that his shop don't deal with second hand goods as it might give people that the other items are also second hand. Nonetheless, he said that he will help me to sell it to his friends. And he did sold it to his church friend.

Sam, if you are reading this, thank you so much again (if you can recall this incident) :)

:thumbsup::thumbsup: John 3:16

Cheers

Shopping at John's was an ok experience. Yar... took a while to attend to me. They should get 2-3 more staff or maybe dish out ticket numbers :bsmilie:

Fav is Cathay-P. Well... not really fav 'cos I only like the place when I have $$$ to spend. I'm one of those shoppers who like to window-shop/browse around without being interrupted or followed.

Overall, my experience rating including how much I've spent are as follows:
CP-P - B+ ($$$$-since 1999)
MS - C+ ($-since 2009)
OP - C+($-since 2009)
JO - C+ ($-since 2009)
CP-M - C ($$$-since 1999)
AP - C ($-since 2009)
BP - C- ($$$-since 2006)

($-Less than 1k)
($$-1k to 3k)
($$$-3k to 5K)
($$$$-More than 5k)

and all the feedbacks here

Hi S/L,

Thanks for reading the feedback and went for extra miles due to the feedback here. Do maintain such service. I reckon Housecall may not be realistic.

I have yet to visit your shop to see if u have improved to be "SINCERE and HUMBLE" and stop making fun of other customers and shops.

I have not written u off per my earlier reply. But if u still quote higher price (e.g worst example was 30% more for item less than $200. ). I will go elsewhere. My tolerance level is at most 5-10% more for the "friendly" service.

All the best.
