john 3:16 review

Some years back I needed a QR plate for a tripod brand for which this store was the only SG dealer at that time. MSRP for the QR plate was $40. The shop quoted me $85. The salesman became rude when I mentioned that their price was more than double the MSRP. I haven't set foot in there since.

seems a shop recommended......

Every other biz is the same.

I just bought a seahorse folding mattress at sale price $18.50. Normal price sold by seahorse shop is $38.

This morning, I happened to walk by a local furniture shop, in hdb estate. And saw they are selling the same seahorse mattress. I just asked for the price, and the shop wanted my blood; $56.

I was thinking to myself; how dare they try to sell at $56 when seahorse is only selling for $38.

So u see, its always wise to do your homework first

I always step in just to take a look.

Since my preferred shops already give me excellent service and reliable price I see no reason to buy here.

I won't recommend as I got my first dslr from them with shutter count of 108. Plus hoya 52mm filter at 45sgd.

108 counts.

Assuming someone molested the camera and take 5 test shots, that will be 21 ppl who already test drive the cam before u bought it......

I've never gotten anything from them, but they are still nice to me when I visit their shop.

Not sure, but they sell this set to me as new.

I dont think they sell display sets but I'm guessing that they will let people try the one set they have at any one time and sell that off. Thereafter they standby another set for people to test/check before it gets sold, and the cycle continues.

Dont think it was meant to be a display set. More because it just happened that for some reason too many people were unsatisfied with that

If you like sales persons who talk out of their a*s it is the best shop in S'pore. ;) Personally I wouldn't leave there any cent.

Since the indian guy left, i have never patronised the shop. Find the chinese guy a tad too..'snobbish'?
CLick and Cathay for me anytime!

But the shop is almost always full. I think loads of customers like him talking. :) The way he talks is too biblical for me.

yah, which i dont understand why. Now, with the stools and all, the hip factor has apparently gone up. Saw quite a few chiobus at the shop patronising the shop recently.

I think customers who have no clue appreciate a shop like that as long as they are under the illusion they get a good advice there. :)

I think I should drop in more often.

Er... that is abit too much, don't you think. I visited the shop pretty much and I think I do have some clues (not as much as you, I believe) in the things I wanted. I got good price and good services so far. You might not like the shop (for whatever reasons, and I think those are valid reasons too) but please don't phase that as if others who like or buy regularly from that shops are not having clues or things like that.

wah, some of you really don't like the shop sia?

I used to work in a large shop as salesperson also, so can share a bit of experience. J316 is small shop, they not really agent unlike where I work, but they got steady stream of customer. not sure who supply them one, but should be some of the agents in the area.

If some of you buay song that you didn't get the lowest price, it's like that one. Sometimes you get the good deal, sometimes you get chop a bit. I know we salespeople will also see person. if we think we can get away with quoting a higher price, we will. and of course we will push more profitable products, so see which manufacturer give better margin or discount, we will try to sell. Canon is quite good at the combo deals with the pwp offer, dat's why sometimes you see prices drop on Canon stuff.

anyway, I'm posting because it's quite funny to see the different reactions, so explain a bit to those who don't understand how things work - its not like we dun want to give you best price, but our own head is on the chopping board also. In the end, its like what the other bros here say, do your homework, know what you want to buy, and dun change your mind halfway.
