personally never bought anything from them yet except for a filter and collected stuff from other users from them.

i can say they are friendly and if they do rub you the wrong way, i think its unintentional. they treat everyone there in a friendly way. abit like kampung mate. :)

Does anyone know if John3:16 offer any kind of installment plans for DSLR? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

no idea but should be around the usual 3 - 5% depending on installment length and amount.

Thanks! think I'll go and check out next week =)

I just went there recently to buy a Digi - Cabi Dry Cabinet DHC -040. One of the staff there quoted me $204 for the dry cabinet and I took the offer only to have him call me the following afternoon to tell me that the price $204 was of last year. The price for the Dry Cabinet is actually $238, but he offered a discount which I could buy at $215. Despite feeling cheated, I still took the discounted price and top it up the remaining amount unpaid when the delivery was made. Still, I was left a bad impression because this is my first purchase experience and to add on John 3 : 16 (from what I heard) is a reputable shop recommended among CSers. Hope not to experience such errors from their shop again.

edit* : typo "last last year"

Well, nobody's perfect...

My experience so far is that John 3:16 is the most honest shop around. Price wise is not the lowest, but you'll get a good service and they actually prevented me (so many times) from wasting money on things I don't need or those low quality...

Sam jokes alot, but he has never offended me, or any one else, as far as I know...

That sucks. I'm surprised - I'd think their reputation would be worth more than the $11.

erm. do your research before buying?

i dont know, i find this very contradicting leh.. :dunno:

if you feel cheated in the very first place, why buy? no one at the shop forced you at gun point to purchase right?

erm. do your research before buying?

Erm, so I should find out what is a good price for something I buy, and when the store offers it to me for less, I should reject the offer and insist on paying more?

what im saying is at least roughly know the market price. if its lesser then what you researched, good lor. (unless you wish to pay more, by all means :) )

but in this case i think the shop made a mistake and windslash feels hes cheated instead.

like someone said earlier, everyone makes mistakes.

I understand that everyone makes mistakes, and I don't hold that against them.

What I don't agree with is your statement that windslash should do his research before buying. He's not complaining that the shop charged him too much, but merely that they quoted him a price and then changed it the next day.

Whether he should feel cheated or not is a different matter.

 are you sure? anyway, spend so much on camera, lenses, accesories, tripod, bags.

whats $11?

seriously.

edit : if he wasnt complaining, he wouldn't have ranted in here. :dunno:

I must say john 3.16 service is good.
i seldom buy but the boss remembers me, i bought 10.5mm fisheyes, and 8 mths later, he still recalls me and very friendly thru out, but as bussiness very good, they can't please all, that's what i see.

i also serve many clients, and i must say i cannot please ll that's come to me.

Installment plan are only those that's offered by the credit card companies, meaning with a service charge factor in. So not worth it.

Best pay with cash. Cos Sameul's NETS may not be working :D

*sigh* Are you being pedantic? Very well, I shall rephrase.

He's not complaining that the shop charged him too much, but instead he is complaining that they quoted him a price and then changed it the next day.

Good grief, my language is surely not that bad? I don't seem to be getting my point across.

I'm not talking about the amount, his attitude, what (if anything) the shop should have done differently, whether anyone is allowed to make mistakes, whether he's complaining, whether he has the right to rant, or anything else. I'm not even debating if $11 is a significant amount of money.

I'm merely saying that you stating he should have done his research before buying is not fair.
