*sigh* Are you being pedantic? Very well, I shall rephrase.

He's not complaining that the shop charged him too much, but instead he is complaining that they quoted him a price and then changed it the next day.

Good grief, my language is surely not that bad? I don't seem to be getting my point across.

I'm not talking about the amount, his attitude, what (if anything) the shop should have done differently, whether anyone is allowed to make mistakes, whether he's complaining, whether he has the right to rant, or anything else. I'm not even debating if $11 is a significant amount of money.

I'm merely saying that you stating he should have done his research before buying is not fair.

mm. that may be my bad i guess? but even then, he still could have just rejected to buy since the price was different, no obligation to purchase whatsoever.. right? anyway, theres always such cases whereby people complain and all but they still make the purchase and after that they're not happy.

honestly if they're not happy with the price/attitude(of the salesperson) then dont purchase lah.. aiyoh.

i rest my case. :) :)

That I agree with completely.

I wasn't ranting nor complaining. I was just sharing my experience I had in John 3 : 16, isn't that the same thing that everyone is doing in this thread? It was true that I was unhappy, BUT I was unhappy at the error they made in pricing. Service wise, I was impressed that they tried their best to attend to me even though I approach them during a peak period. (The stall was pretty crowded) Thus, I would like also to finalize my stand as neutral with both compliments and criticism for John. As mention above in the posts before mine, everyone make mistakes.

erm. do your research before buying?

i dont know, i find this very contradicting leh.. :dunno:

if you feel cheated in the very first place, why buy? no one at the shop forced you at gun point to purchase right?

For your info, my research was done earlier before I went down. My resource was this thread in clubsnap.

I think your point is fair. But take it sincerely from someone who has been buying cams and lenses in Singapore since 1993 (new and used) that they are honest people - and honest people do mistakes too :) . And when you are free, I would most gladly give you a series of horror stories from some of the other shops that I no longer frequent. ;)

In my opinion, I think they are worth another chance (at least the many good stories should prompt you to give them another chance :) )

what is the address if John 3:16??
DO they have a email which i can ask for equote?

Thank You

does John 3:16 sell grey unit Nikon lenses? I'll be taking it out of the country so I don't really need any warranties unless it is global, and from the reviews I've been reading, John 3:16 is the most reliable store

hope to hear from you guys, thanks very much ;)

i am not sure about the reliable part
but i brought up an issue about my purchase and they did not keep their promise to enquire with the agent. :(

John 3:16 service is good. and they also do their best to help customer. Last time my friend called them to reserve the nikon 24-70, and they said ok... but when he went there and asked samuel, samuel said that he thought that the guy who just walked out of the store was the one that reserved it. So samuel called alan photo to ask if they got stock, managed to get the same price and asked my friend to go there and buy if he wanted it on that day...
