you need a helmet cam.. :bsmilie::bsmilie:Didn't go through the morning one but the evening one. Good thing is you do not need to hold the handrails, you are automatically propped up by the bodies thats squeezing you on all sides.
As for photography.....good luck getting you arms above your body.

i nvr got into a major squeeze in japan.. the worst was at abt ~8pm and the experience was not as bad as SG city hall at 6pm
i tried the morning squeeze from ikkebukuro to Shinjuku. usually i will leave hotel after 10am to avoid the crowd but tat day need to catch the train to Hakone. So no choice. Waited for 3 trains to pass before we attempted to get in. It is a horrible experience!! It is summer and everyone is so sweaty and sticky. Luckily is jus one stop for us. And getting out is worse, ppl squeezing in from outside and ppl inside forcing their way out. This is one experience i nv wanna try again. SG mrt squeeze is really nothing compared to Japan.

Bro, I experienced the worse squeeze ever on one day from Shinagawa to Tokyo. Basically, me and my girlfriend already at the door opening cannot go in le, the people still push in from outside until we were way pass the halfway mark on the other door. Something you will NEVER experience in Singapore.
So packed that like Kenn said, no need to hold anything. Everyone is breast to breast, arse to privates, privates to arse. Truly felt uncomfortable for my girlfriend especially knowing what Japanese trains are famous for. Was ready to smack anyone who tries with my tripod-o-steel LOL.

It's going to be a hard choice bro. In my opinion, I prefered DisneySea to DisneyLand. Sea was more theme based.
However if u go Sea only u will miss out experiencing Land. If u go Land, u will keep wondering what Sea is like. Afterall, you'd probably want to know what either is like and you will probably not go there again, or for some people, 1 or 2 times more if they really loved it :bsmilie:

Hihi, for my first 7 nights I stayed in Shinagawa Prince Hotel, price is about 1050 for 2 ppl..that works out to be 75 per person per night.
Next 2 nights in Taisenkan in Hakone. This is about 1040 for 2 ppl for 2 nights...that works out to be about 260 per person per night.**
The last 2 nights I stayed at Ueno Fountaine Villa...this one is 274, so about 68.5 per person per night. (comes with free buffet breakfast)
** Taisenkan is a ryokan, price includes a Kaiseki (traditional dinner) and breakfast (super big spread too). Highly recommended you go to a good ryokan especially if you're going together with wife/gf. Get to book a private outdoor bath (at least for my ryokan).
I liked all my hotels. The last one is quite squeezy but for the price, it's considered good. The best of course is Taisenkan as it is the highlight of my trip. Don't skimp on this one if u want to experience a traditional ryokan with ALOT of food , wearing a yukata and sleeping on futon - True Japanese Experience :thumbsup:

I'm planning to travel japan this November as well but still have some concerns about accommodation. Do you think that I can travel from Tokyo to Kyoto, Nikko, Hakone at night, say after 8pm? Hotels and ryokan / minshuku allow check-in after 3pm if I make a reservation beforehand?

I have no idea how to take the bus safe for the ones in Hakone and Nikko
If not travelling beyond tokyo I cannot imagine using any pass system. Some of these passes (eg, I got a metro ticket pass when buying GRUTT museum pass, cannot use on JR lines), will need you to be walking more than usual if you want to make these passes worth!
eg Ueno, got aga aga 5 stations, but only JR line nearest to where u wanna go, but u use this pass u need to do more walking. Vice Versa for JR east pass or something, doesn't apply for private trains.
IMO just get their SUICA/PASMO (EZ-LINK!) and get done with no need to think more
Passes i DO recommend are the GRUTT pass and Hakone/Nikko passes if u are going there.
