japan earthquake

The biggest threat to humanity is never disaster but the weakness of the human heart by succumbing to fear.

Look at the Japanese, their calmness and determination and their unity in the face of dire crisis is top notch. You can feel that they are one nation.

I think I face more radiation than an average Fukushima villager because I face my laptops , 8 hours a day. Watch LCD tv 2 hours, play games on computer plus carrying 2 phones with me all the time.

Woot but lets pray the reactors gets cooled soon. Peace

I don't know how accurate that is but I do know that the transparency of media could be further questioned. I do not deny that CNA does report news accurately, but everyone seems to be talking about how calm the Japanese are et cetera, and not how many people are still missing kind of questions. It's not simply because we don't have access to that type of question, it's because of how the media has portrayed it. I doubt it would be the same if we were there to experience it ourselves. I don't question their calmness, unity and determination, but considering the fact that the Japanese govt is actually seeking help from worldwide nuclear experts, it seems like the situation there is really bad and I don't know, how strong could a human be?

One nation or not, we do not know. It could also be due to our perception that Japanese are cool people, they do things slowly with class. But the level of transparency is still questionable.

Why is Japanese PM howling at Tokyo Electric Power Company, Incorporated (TEPCO) management?
This is a national disaster already. Not a company level matter.
The Japanese PM should mobilise whole country's resources instead of expecting TEPCO to resolve it all by itself; using its technicians.

This shows poor leadership in a crisis.

Politicians should not distance themselves from the problem in a crisis. (too drama....playing to the media that ...they (TEPCO) screwed up, not me )

In my opinion, in handling nuclear radiation - it is best to be left to the experts to handle.
Understand that even some of the foreign volunteers already got exposed to radiation(may be due to their ignorance with radiation?

Sure have to how at TEPCO as they build the reactor and guarantee the safety. Otherwise how at us???

Maybe best is to deploy more help and assistance to take care of the victims in food, water, medicine supplies etc...

Seeking foreign experts help is good (but then there would still be difference in opinion so who makes the final decision?). I believe some of the decisions made are are based on the best of the different evils (which many of us may not understand).

"howl" and not "how"? not deliberate lol

Anyway, my respects to the Japanese technicians who risked their lives to enter the Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear plant...

Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear plant

... truly 'samurai' spirits!

May the Gods bless them, and Japan!

In Japan there is more to it.
It is a quiet world power.
Technologically advanced.
Their nuclear plants are such they don't want to reveal much to the world.
It is secretive even in a disaster situation.
TEPCO was under state control for a long time before. It was not always a private firm.

They may have developed nuclear weapons decades ago. Maybe kept in secret silos somewhere.
They have to do so - with China having hydrogen bombs so early and North K trying to make their own.

LOL... you're beri creative..

Like that then the IAEA should have earlier on listed Japan as another 'rogue' nuke bomb makers like the N.Korea and Iran... LOL

not necessary, japan is very pro-usa, so maybe even silent consent to it. n.korea and iran on the other hand are anti-usa.
but still given the past records, its very unlikely altho possible...

LOL... another dirty politics, another cold war theories sia..

Natural disasters occurred in history and will occur in the future. Be prepared. Reduce fatality and property loss.

did we just jump from facts to conspiracy theories?

Somehow hor, you often offer conspiracy theories for a lot of happenings. I am beginning to wonder if there is a conspiracy behind all your approaches....

Let's not speculate so wildly.

If I understand the Japanese correctly, they are quite anti nuclear weaponry. After the bombings in WWII.

In all crisis management The rate of information flow has always been criticized by media and public. I don't think the leadership is mishandling the situation.

Everyone is trying their best and I think the Japanese pm has done quite a rein so far with people rallying behind him.

i agreed, if the government just anyhow follow to please the medias, don't you feel worry? who are the medias? do they have the right / correct technology expertise to contribute in resolving the crisis?

Those "specialists" should comment something with constructive solution, not critisizing something that we knew had happened.

double post -.-
