Hi, you mix up my shot with LEW. I am use Auto White balance. Can fine tune the white balance seen you take in Raw so not Big issue.

I had make the comparison between mine with LEW & minglink as follow:
Bro, Can tell that ur image has a stronger yellow cast on them.. :).

Master Jacob I have another question , how to capture the BG? For most of my photo. I see only one colour --BLACK? How can I get some ambient light into my image? Do i reduce my shutter speed or increase the ISO?

It's seem like not much different with the white balance..:dunno:
By the way, I shoot in both format Jpeg & Raw file.

Jacob,
Got mix up. My photo got my name on it. I was using flash white balance. I find that using flash white balance setting on my cam is more accurate than auto white balance. I do not have to adjust the raw file white balance in photoshop. I do not know about other cams though.
Cheers.

Back to your question:
In low light where there’s less ambient light, we need more sensitivity in the camera. So we raise the ISO from 1 to 2 to 4 or maybe 8 if you have to, to get enough light in so the picture looks good.

But be take note that as you raise the ISO we get more noise or grain in the picture, and less color. So, you want to set the ISO as low as possible without having the ISO too low so we make blurry pictures.

By the way, I'm not master and still at learning curve..:)

Just a suggestion for B/G.

Just pick up a big green or brown leaf and have a fellow macro shooter hold it right behind the subject (if the space allows it and for non skittish subjects). In this way, you can still use high shutter speed to shoot and have coloured B/G.

Yes Shifu, I take note and test out the setting.

Hmm... Worth a try but can only try if I am in a group.

Cheers

It is safer to go macro shooting in a group. Dun do it alone. Everyone helps to look after one another. Especially at night.

Yap in a group will be great. So when is the next outing. :bsmilie:

HI,

I just ordered a DCR-150. I was afraid the DCR250 will be tough to work with due to:

1. Need to be very close to subject

2. Movement being magnified leading to blur shots

Any advice? I can still change my order.

Hi, i just bought the SP90 last Tues and bought the Raynox 250 last Thurs. I did some practise in my room using small objects. Thanks to GRyder guide on the setting i manage to get some good shoots on my first macro outing.

I did use 580EX as my main flash with bounce card. When taking small objects Raynox 250 is very useful but have to get close to get focus.

Hope this helps.

Go for the killl..... MP-E 65mm....... No lar just joking.

I feel u should just go for the DCR-250 I don't think it will affect much... Practise and u will be able to use it. I also have one and I use it on my macro lens... can go higher than 1:1... I find that what is more difficult is getting the correct flash lighting the rest can be practise and adjust of course need some pointers from shifu like Jacobs.

NTU quite interest place for hunting unique bugs..:)
May be you can consult from our senior bro Benjamin (Peterpan) of the shooting point..

Hi,

Can someone kindly advise which part of Hort Park should I go to for more macro opportunities? Never been to Hort Park before so going to try soon.

Also, what is the best time of the day where insects are busiest and not hiding?

Thanks!

Hi Bro muvouser. best time for taking insects is during early morning and evening when the weather a little cooler.

Thanks. Any particular area in Hort Park where I would have better luck finding them? Pond areas best?
