Sold DMC-LX2 (1 month old) yesterday and bought Ixus 850IS from MS at $572 incl GST. 2GB SD card + digital kit from Canon.
$575 to $590 will get you the Ixus 850IS with all the freebies listed (2GB SD Card and Digital Camera Kit - mini tripod, cleaning kit etc) from some of the retail shops like Alan Photo, MS Color, etc.
Provided the promo is still on, of course.
I must say I'm quite disappointed with the image quality of mine. Needs a lot of post-processing to make it acceptable. But the video is good, and the 28mm is good.
in wat sense u are disappointed with the image quality? lots of noise or image colour is not good? i'm quite interested in getting this cam, but quite worried abt image quality. i'm currently a sony user, so now wanna give canon a try cos apparently the image quality from canon is better than sony, but i've got to give up the battery indicator and zoom indicator.
as far as i've read from reviews, the new DIGIC III processor compromise on image quality to reduce noise at ISO 200 and above, but if i generally stay below that, should be ok right?
