Oooo jus got a quote frm AP @ $590 + 128 + 7 in 1... i tink this sud be the lowest... comments?

I was quoted $619 for ixus 40 this aftenoon. Already very tempted to buy at this price. Confirm yours is before GST? Thanks.

When you say that you get 10min video from the Ixus40 on a 1g card; that seems quite short.
I am not saying this is not true, but I am amazed enough to try it tomorrow.

I do notice that Canon seem to use lower compression for stills,
hence, you don't get as big a number of photo's per same megs as you do with other brands of camera.

Maybe this also applies to the video also :dunno: I will try it out for my interest sake.

I got a quote from a shop in lucky plaza for $577 ... ixus 40... free 128mb + 7 in 1 bag. Duno if the shop is reputable... any canon experts out there know wat are the bad tell tale signs tat the cam is :thumbsd: . Is there any diff from gettin these smaller shops compared to CP or AP... afterall the warantee is to Canon ??

PS... anyone knows why the 7in1 bag dun incl the casing!!! means we gotta get our own casing???

Anyone tried the Red Eye Reduction Flash on the Ixus 40? Does not seem to work. With or without the Red Eye Reduction, the people in my photos looked really scary with the red eyes.

Besides the above, the ixus 40 is a great camera.

remove the red eye digitally via software.
Alot of online reviews will tell u this.
Coz IXUS lens is so small that red eye is inevitable (even with the reduction turned on)

Hi Bigbelly...For a very compact camera such as IXUS40, sure to have certain amount of red eye. This is due to the close distance between the flash and the lens. But the bundled Canon ZoomBrowser EX is very easy to use to remove the red-eye. I am in fact very surprised with the quality of software bundled.
