[ It's Official ] - The Olympus E-P5 and VF4 (May 2013)

It took 1 year before price went down to 1500. Can you resist the temptation for that long?

Actually to drop from 1888 to 1500 in a year , the EM5 has held it's value quite well already. It's only this Mar that I started seeing <1000 prices for used EM5.

Most other electronics would have already lost close to half it's selling price or simply have been consigned to old goods le.

Value wise , I have faith in that Oly's top tier of cameras (EP and EM5) can hold ; however if its the EPL or EPM series, the prices do drop quite fast.

Hence ... No need to hold out that long , prob half a yr maximum for stocks to settle and prices to drop from premium to more reasonable :)

Heads up ... E-P5 preorder page is live! Jux got a call from Olympus .. Ordered Limited Ed :)

Oh no! Ricoh GR or EP5??? *pull hair*

GR has a bigger sensor in a smaller body, cheaper too. If you can live w a fixed 28/2.8 lens, I think the GR is a better deal.

Personally I don't need another camera w interchangeable lenses, I'd still go with the Ricoh GR :)

But the EP5 sure looks sexier. I like its look better than OMD. Oly has better local market and support too. That's something we need to consider when buying a camera.

Yup, I've more or less settled on the GR (i think, LOL...). Cheaper, more compact, excellent image quality, APS-C, wide angle to compliment my E-M5. Ricoh has a good reputation for firmware support, which I think is quite important. The handling is pretty nice, too. And the snap focus feature will suit my needs pretty well. =) No external charger is a bummer, tho not too big a deal.

Correction : just found out that there is an optional charger BJ-6 available.
