D3 you mean? D3X not announced yet but is expected to announce later next year. Will probably boast higher MP FX but high ISO noise may not be as good.

On lah! Wait for D3X liao, probably similar as or slightly lower pixel density than D300!! ;p This kind of ISO 6400 image is like ISO1600 from D2X. That's a 2 stop advantage already! Good enough me. I'll prefer to have the resolution rather than speed since I seldom shoot sports. D3 is good for speed, especially the :bigeyes:high ISO:bigeyes:!!
 

my gdness, if they are real...they are incredibly / ridiculously good.... it looks like the d70/d80 @ iso500-iso640
 

hey anyone notice banding in the iso6400 shots for the D300?
i tink iso1600 is prob the max for D300

think the d3(whatever it come up) should be like the D300 @ 6400.
Still I love high MP thing. :devil:

Exactly! For people like us, high MP is more important than high speed. SO I'll wait for D3X and see if it's affordable enough. If too expensive then no choice, get D3. Not sure if they will come out with a D300X base on D3 FX sensor when D3X is out.

Will wait till then.. not as if I have nothing to shoot with or I'm desperate for the high ISO now.. ;p
 

from the image of D300 I would say iso 6400 is very usable.. better than d70's iso 1600.
I am keen to see the iso 3200,where we would see people pushing the limit(and where d200 iso 3200 wasnot good enough).
