Can't wait to see a comparison made between Pana GH1 & this new challenger

Well, the fact that Olympus' m4/3 implementation comes with in-body IS will be key to me choosing it over the Panasonic. However, given Panasonic's experience in pro video cameras, it is likely that their m4/3 cameras will always have the edge in video quality.

I wonder if the Olympus micro four thirds will have an EVF and art filters in it,if it has,I'm so going to chiong for one with the four thirds to micro four thirds adaptor after a few months of its release

My predictions!

No EVF but a tiltable screen. Olympus will bank on how light it can make the body and lens such that there won't be much difference to using a regular compact.

if really no EVF,kinda sad since i find it weird to use a screen to compose now,if have art filters,even more sad since have to choose between G1 and the Olympus one

For me, it'll probably be new innovative features. IS in-body although works with every lens incl legacy lenses, but i'm pretty sure Pana Mega OIS lenses work just as well & probably a few Leica labeled ones.

U have many legacy lenses? If thats the case, then in-body has an upper hand

yes, in-body IS would be a huge sell... but not having an evf would be a real downer...

also, pls come with a no kit lens option... while launching more new m43 lenses!! :sweat:

This, I think, is the more interesting teaser.

Not to over-analyse, but the chainsaw possibly implies more than "revolution", Oly may just take that step to not only weatherproof the micro 4/3 bodies, but to ruggedise them, just like the TOUGH series of compacts...

It's a really 'bad year' for the 4/3 community this year (especially those with a weak heart // EDIT: empty wallet included).

Let alone the economic recession and up till now, we've had to brace through all the heart-attacks from the release of E30, then the E620, followed by the E450 and eventually the long wait for the u4/3 arsenal from Olympus and Panasonic's GH-1...

Tough luck being a 4/3ian :sticktong
