Anyone knows if there is a physical shutter and whether there is something akin to the snap-fcous on the GRD?

Thanks.

Prices seems to be quite high on the euro side of the fence.

Taken from DPReview forum.
According to French site numerimatch.com:

EP-1 + 14-42mm: EUR 749.00
EP-1 + 14-42mm + 17mm + Viewfinder: EUR 949.00
Lenses separately: EUR 329.00 each

These prices should include 19.6% VAT / sales tax. Distributors in other EU-nations could come up with different prices though.

For US readers, the equivalent amounts in US Dollar, without tax, should be close to..:
EP-1 + 14-42mm: $ 875.00
EP-1 + 14-42mm + 17mm + Viewfinder: $ 1,110.00
Lenses separately: $ 385.00 /ea.

(but then, American prices are often lower).

it is so freaking beautiful!!!wait a min....is that lens cap....the same f on the Pen f?looks like it

Holy... :o The design simply looks fantastic.

If the price is right, I am dumping my P6000 for this. But wait, there is the Panasonic LX-5 in September...

Lots of pictures here. Website is in french though.

First look by DCResource.

:bsmilie: After reading the preview, I think I would love to see how the pro-level m43 is gonna be like.. ;p I won't be able to live without a viewfinder...

But the design is a beauty!

ya lor,no VF feels weird,lol

I'm sold for the concept of Olympus m4/3 camera but I want more. Will see what they can come up with for their next m4/3 camera. Though I think they have a winner on their hands!

DPReview is in on the action too.

mm... one thing is panasonic did not share the AF technology with olympus. Dpreview says AF is only slightly faster than E620....

aiya... olympus should exchange the IS for panasonics AF tech, then the consumer will have best of both worlds.

Check out the gallery! Is it just me, or does the images look really good. In terms of colour, DR and resolution? The kit lens is pretty sharp. ISO6400 is a nice and possibly usable!

Or maybe I'm just bias. LOL. Maybe.

Hi there, EP1 vs GH1. I go for GH1 for better video

If you want longer video recording, then yeah the GH1 is far better. For me, video is quite secondary but I'm definitely liking the super small form factor compared the the G1/GH1.

Think alike... Furthermore it is so retro! ;)

Sample images on dpreview. I think the high ISO shots up to 3200 are pretty ok.

Also, I heard it is expected to ship in July 2009. That is half a month away!

Preorder is possible on Amazon.com at the following prices:

Body Only - US$699
14-42mm Kit - US$799
17mm Kit - US$899

That is lower than the price of 500D and about the same as D5000.

:D
