No case is included with purchase right? I vaguely remember seeing a leather case ala LX3's. If there's one thing I will miss about the LX3 it will be the casing, it's quite a smart design.

Can't wait to go to HN to try out the Pen!

By the way, is the Ex-25 extension tubes compatible with the camera? I'm still coming to terms with the m4/3 & 4/3 thing; if you will need an adapter to use a 4/3 lens on a m4/3 cam, do I actually need an adapter to use the extension tube? :dunno: Sounds silly?

Yes, you'll still need the adapter.. The m43 is suppose to be a new lineup with new bodies and lenses.. So there's nothing to come to terms to.. You just gotta wait for the m43s to mature. :bsmilie:

:bsmilie: As in, I was wondering what all the m4/3 thing was about....then I went to read it up. I thought it was something more chim :bsmilie:

Oh man, I was thinking of getting the pancake lens, then add extension. Might as well get a macro directly, in this case?? :D Are there news of new lenses coming up for the m43s? Someone was saying earlier that there will be new intros end of this year.

Heard some Leica lenses gonna be out end of year.. Real good, and expensive ones.

And from what I read, I believe some lenses will be carried from the 4/3s line to the m43 lineup. But who knows... :bsmilie:

You can try the 50mm macro with adapter... At least it is able to auto-focus! You'll be suprised by the sharpness.

panasonic's 20 f1.7 looks interesting... looks flater than the oly's 17mm...

Seems that a lot of people are buying the 17mm pancake kit set and waiting for the Lumix 14-140mm lens to become available.

Hurray!!!! Just got my E-P1 white 17mm kit.

To my surprise the external viewfinder is not link to the lens or camera, a stand alone by itself. Tot it was linked.
Find it quite cartoon when taking photo thru the viewfinder and the LCD is still on. Haven read the manual yet, so dunno how to off the LCD. If there is no off function for LCD, the viewfinder is just like a vast, for display purposes.

very nice promo video...
remind me a little of the movie 'Up'...

for those worrying about the lcd, having used the grd1, dp1, lx3 and nikon d200, i didn't feel that the ep1's lcd screen is inferior. looks and feels good. i think it's quite lovely. you got to go try one to find out yourself.

also the AF is fast, faster than most compacts. feels faster than my d200 paired with a sigma 30mm f1.4..
one thing i don't like is i find the AW in artificia lighting like always off...

btw anyone care sharing your work flow with raw files? i'm used to lightroom n bibble... so don't feel so efficient now... like take really long to process files...

everybody got cam..
nobody seem to put sample photos.. :'(

Are there 3rd party battery is available for EP1?

haha.. no sample cause i taking damn long to process them... but nothing interesting.. just fun snaps of a dinner out with friends...

there's 3rd party batts... using same batt as the e4xx and e620 if not wrong...

Are there 3rd party battery is available for EP1?

they use the same battery as the E-4xx series and E-620..
model name is "BLS-1"

whether they (the 3rd party batt) work on the E-P1.. i am not so sure.. :dunno:

i'm using a 3rd party batt.. works like original.. just that somehow, the battery catch doesn't hold it well... keeps popping up... :\

Some photos.
Do note, my photos should NOT be used to form an opinion on exposure, color or sharpness. Cause i mostly MF, and i post process them heavily, usualy 2 -3 diff softwares.
Lens used are 17mm pancake and 40mm f1.4 voigtlander...

So i guess, what you can take out is, i can use this cam like i would with a point and shoot. 90% of the images you see, i can say i won't be able to get with either my ricoh grd1 or sigma dp1. 100% of them i will never get with my d200, cause i'll never take it out of my bag to fool around.

So what kind of filter do you guys get for the pancake? Or do you not use any at all? MS told me that they do not have b+w for that size.

i havent gotten any filters yet.. however i intend to get one really soon..

B+W has 37mm & 40.5mm filters for sure, the question is who is carrying them.. ;)
