From the video seen, it is nowhere close to the GH-1 in features. No auto-focus video, swilvel screen, 14-140 zoom range, etc. Unless it's half the price of GH-1, I wouldn't even consider it. Probably just a replacement for my LX3 if they sell the body with 7-14mm lens package to compliment the GH-1. Can use the 7-14 lens on the GH-1 too.

Yup. Actually budget was approved for 1D. But since I'll be overseas mostly, I'd rather use a smaller yet competent enough setup and m4/3 is the ideal format. LX3 is my main cam now.

Will have to divest most of my canon setup tho. :cry:

The olympus website says it has here.
"SLR-quality HD movie mode with AF and Art Filter compatibility"
But the Youtube vid above said it does not. :dunno:

Price is higher partly because of the lens. It's a whopping S$1.4k, if I remember correctly.

I think it should have AF if the Olympus website says so, maybe he is still using a pre-production camera. Didn't know about the Art Filter capability, cool feature, maybe we can make black and white film complete with all the scratches. If it shoots at a higher FPS we can overcrank it then slow it down and get some slow motion shots, maybe the future pro version might have it.

My crystal ball tells me that the E-P1 and 17mm/2.8 kit will cost S$1,150 (street prices) on launch....

I like the concept, I like the unobstrusive size and shape of it, i.e. it looks like a PnS.

On the streets, shooting with a DSLR sticks you out like a sore thumb - everyone is aware of your presence, everyone is wary of what you are doing.

I don't blame them - if I notice a big black thing pointing in my direction I would pay attention. ;p

Ya, that's true. I remember few cases being accuse of pervert by shooting at street. :thumbsd:
