Aiyoo. After about f/16, diffraction sets in. It's not true that smaller aperture always = sharper pic.
Try the same shot with f/11
guys,
thanks for reply.
in fact I'm thinking to get another cam for low light shots, looks at LX5 or NEX5/3, just too surprised Nex sellers are so many.
A55 ? I'll check that out, but if it's a dslr size, is out of what I need. I need something smaller, but allows me to take reasonably good handheld low light shots.

We can't just judge by the amount of trading to draw a conclusion. You will see people selling their few mths old BMW and Merc. as well.
I believed many out there purchase things which they themselves are unsure of. So adopt the atitude of try it out and if not suitable, then sell it (nothing wrong with that, good for economy).
Not reading enough review or ignorant could be the reason for trading off. Some cam adjustment are done thru menu instead of one touch button (I think NEX is one of them, I could be wrong). Hence its important to spend time to read reviews for a wiser purchase.
I bought a 2nd hand LX3 when so many people are selling for upgrading to LX5 and it served me well so far. No regrets. Knowing what one's need is equally impt.
Some commented the pic posted is not sharp. It could be due to web compression. Any camera, incld a 6MP P&S is capable of producing a sharp 8R pic (with reasonable sharpening if need be). I observed many would pass judgement on how sharp a camera is by merely basing on web posting. That should not be a criterion to gauge.
Those were the days where an actual plane has to be built to see whether it can fly. Now, whether it can fly is not the real issue. Computer takes over the design role and the real deal is about fuel economy. On the same token, a picture actually goes beyond more than mere sharpness. I'm not sure about you but to me, sharpness is the simplest thing to achieve given today's sensor and AF technology.
In conclusion, yes, I like to have the NEX at $50. Sorry for grandma's story. Today a little free.
The A55 is definitely SLR size. The nex footprint is small with the 16mm pancake lens but not small with the 18-55mm. If you feel that you want something pocketable with a bit of reach, go for the LX5.
I'm really tempted to go for LX3/5, but understand the sensor for Nex3/5 is much bigger, thus Nex 3/5 has to have better pictures (true/false?)
Nevertheless, I tried to read up more and ask more, so that wont have to regret choosing one and then the other. me no rich kid lah !!!

Nope, the NEX is here now.
NEX system is for ppl who wants a better cam den P & S but not the bulk of DSLR.
It's a sys in middle grd. Some say it's closer to P & S den DSLR. To me, it doesnt matter.
When i wan to buy a new cam, my decision factor was
1) Good Cam, quality match-able to entry level DSLR
2) Light
I wanted to go into Photography as Hobby but worries it's not suitable for me...
thus, i wan a cam that i can use and carry ard easily.
finally, i bought nex.
Love the size and quality. Ideal for traveling with Family or when u wanna shoot light.
NEX is definitely not a DSLR replacement but it complement it well.
Due to NEX, i will be staying with Sony and aiming for A700 replacement, so both cam can share a common pool of lens.
Be it photography or other hobby, u need to knw wat u wan or dun wan to decide wat to buy.
Exactly same as what's in my mind for targeting NEX.
I had seen many nice shots taken with NEX5 but seldom see anyone post up shutter pic.
den i post some of my fav noob pics lor... ;p
