That's why when posting in the BnS section make it clear what you are selling and what additional things are included in the package and be honest so that your reputation wont be spoiled by someone else. To the buyer, clarify everything before handing over you hard earned money. Just my 2 cents!

Hi i just recently bought a Think Tank Bag 35 version 2 from a user called michaelyi who made a post

selling a bag which he said bought for SGD240. i replied him via sms saying i may be interested and he immediately gave me a call saying that the bag is big and can put 500pages worth of books. He too tell me that it can be used as a backpack.

The next day i went to TK Photo and gave him a call. He told me he bought it at a price of SGD240 and he is now selling me @ SGD200 He too added that he bought it as sold in TK photo for 240 and he's gonna sell me for SGD200 as he's used it for 2 weeks. His reason for selling is to buy another larger bag. Thinking that i am able to save SGD40 as i am too tight on budget, and plus the fact that i need to put alot of books, i promised to deal with him but requested for another SGD10 discount. He agreed.

A few days later he asked if i was still wanting to buy. I said yes and we'd fixed a time and date. At Dhoby Ghaut 7.30pm 26 Oct. He met me and i was abit surprised why the bag wasnt that big. Anyway, he told me its expandable and can become very big by loosening the strap.He claimed that he was rushing for time and asked me to do it myself. I briefly checked and paid him the money. He thanked me and ran away.


To my surprise, i realized that it wasnt what's sold in TK Photo. The one displyed in TK Photo sold at SGD240 has a backpack strap and the one he sold me isnt included. i called him and explained to him but he hung down my phone.

In short, he bought a Think Tank Bag with the harness together for 240 and regretted buying it short while later. Hoping not to make a loss, he decided to remove the strap and sold it separately but posted online that he bought it for SGD240 and wish to sell it for SGD200. It's misleading in the sense that newbies like me who just started on photography and buying a first photography bag . All i know is that i am buying a bag worth SGD240 selling at SGD200 because he used it for 2 weeks. And he also told me the bag is worth SGD240. I believe he should mention that the strap is removed and the actual value of the bag is worth less than SGD200. But there's nothing i can do now. He hung down my phone when i tried calling him.

I am very depressed now and don't know what to do...

For the amount of time and effort u spent here writing about your misfortune, you could have better used it to research more about the bag and asking the right questions to the seller in order to get the most information out of the item being sold. In the 2nd hand market, you can't always expect pple to spoon-feed all the info to you. Not every seller is open enough to declare every detail. They will just operate under the assumption: "If buyer did not ask, I don't need to tell". So the bottom line is you have to ask clearly questions relating to what you're buying to avoid disappointments. That is the risk of buying something 2nd hand as opposed to getting it from a reputable shop.

Perhaps all items to be sold in the Buy/Sell must include identifiable photos for product evaluation?

hence, i didnt not state in my thread though i bought it along Shown in e receipt.
nevertheless, he called to check if harnass can be USED and did not ask if its included.
a 2 week of bag, without any damaged cost 30-40dollar less why do ppl still wana bargain?

Well as a buyer you could chooser not to sell and be firm with your price. There will always be pple bargaining just to save a few dollars.

But just curious, if the optional harness cost about $40 (which u bought it for 240), and that you're just selling the bag; less the 2 weeks usage of $30 - 40 (which u stated above), should it not be sold at $170 +-? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Make people aware of him for what.?

1. his sales thread never even say anything about the harness.
2. if you did your research you would know the harness is Optional. ( i assume we're talking about the shoulder harness)


just go out and shoot and stop harping about it. u got it at a slightly cheaper rate for a 2 - 3 weeks bag. Still nt enough? :think:

TS, **** happens man, take it in your stride and just learn from this, 40 dollars is cheaper then people thinking of you as a grief whore. Next time before purchasing a used item, do your full homework on the product by asking the former owner questions you gathered from going through a 1st hand item from TK perhaps. If its not up to your expectations, forget it and just find a new seller, or just get it 1st hand.

For the seller, dont need to be so fierce defending yourself laaa im sure if he continues to grief he wont spoil ur reputation but rather his own

haha buy both get cheaper price more over u noe the ppl there. if im not wrong that bag shld cost 219. and harnass cost 40 bucks. i chose to keep the harnass as i need it for some other uses.
think in the way if u just wana get the bag without harnass, u are buying it at 190 instead of 219, u save 30 bucks.
MY POINT is, the buyer did not say he wants the harnass nor check if it is included. if he wan it then he shld have just get it from TK at 240 IF HE IS SURE he can get it at that price.

After reading seller thread, I am not sure why TS has the impression that shoulder harness is included??? :nono:
Also, buyer bears the responsibility to check that the item he/she is buying is up to expectation before paying. Since TS inspected the bag and paid up, meaning he accepted the bag as it is. So is very weak case to gain sympathy :nono:

actually, in the linked thread that he posted, there was no mention that the harness was not included. this is just my observation.

In my observation, the thread did not mention it was included either. TS only assumes it to be included. Correct me if I'm wrong...

I think there's nothing much to learn. It's buyer's remorse. Plain and simple.

The Seller was only selling the bag. He didn't mention he's selling everything associated with the bag like harness, foam inserts, plastic wrappers etc. As a buyer, you got to enquire what you are buying and not assuming everything would be thrown in your favour. :think:

sorry, not for us to help you get your pound of flesh but this thread should bring attention enough for people to decide who/what to believe

and thinking about your reactions a little more........ i guess its not the money thats eating at you, its the fact that you've under-researched, been out-played and 'lost' which might have caused a bruise to your self-confidence/ego thats upsetting you

take it as a cheap lesson learnt and learn to have a u-win-some-u-lose-some outlook to life...... much less stressful
