i have same experience tho mine is in HK...so its like a hawker type fast food eatery...i bought noodles from one store then i bring it on my table...my wife wants to taste it...so i went back to the store where i bought the noodles & thinking to get spoon & fork...sad to say...the guy doesn't allow me to take another spoon/fork...i jst walk out & dnt want to bring up the topic cuz im too hot tempered person & i dont want to explode lol

here in SG, restaurants usually charge 10% service charge.. so maybe there is no difference in the base price, but there may be difference in the total price.. i don't think it's racism.. it's more of "restauranism" where the service staffs are usually lazy to wait for one more person (hey, i'm in service, i do this also, asking people to leave when it's time to close..:sweat

so don't take it personally, just put yourself in the waiter's shoes, i believe you would want to go home already after a hard day's work and would not want to wait a little longer for another customer.. :lovegrin:

Even the Mr Teh Tarik at Big Splash have this policy..you wanna sit mean u get served and be charged 10% more for using the seat.
I agree with DP...TS' colleague need to bend his mind abit.

I went to the same countries in 2008. The tour guide told us that the prices differs when you are eating in the restaurant or take away. There is even a difference in the prices when you are standing or siting at the restaurant as well.

I don't think the shop attendant is being racist but their culture and way of life is different from ours.

I dun think thats racist. I encounter before such incident which made my face burnt red.

I was a teenager back then, went to Oman for holiday with my parents. Was passing thru the security to chop passport etc. Then notice this Arab guy gave me a killing look, was like dun care la. then came my turn I gave the passport, before he open the passport, he use that book and slap my face! i was like shock. even the people there shock. then my dad warned him not to do it. Then he OK! OK! I kinda start to get angry at him. When he look at my passport n my angry face again n saw my dad wasnt looking, he use the passport slap me again! This time I was dam angry. I said WHY?? he starts to hold his machine gun which he had put on the right side of the desk.then our tour guide talk to him with his language and then the tour guide told me to go faster. He said the guy dun like me. I asked why, he said usually these Arabs are like that, once they dun like a face, they just find fault.

I still remember his bloody face till today. Freakin arab. but after that, all was a breeze meeting frenly arabs n israelites.
