so are we considered fuji or nikon??
Aiyah.... Just shoot lah!
Leave the technical part to the engineers while we savy those 'delicious' images we have created.![]()
thanks photobum you have been of great help.. hope to join the family soon! so are we considered fuji or nikon??
Bukit Panjang Plaza has a Fuji sales booth at the concourse. The body's going for 1.2k. The booth is there till tomorrow.
(b) you are locked into Nikon lens mount and related system, e.g. speedlights, micro nikkors;
Don't know how the rest feel, but getting a Fuji S series DSLR means:
(a) you are shooting a Nikon camera with Fuji digital, call it heart if you must;
(b) you are locked into Nikon lens mount and related system, e.g. speedlights, micro nikkors;
(c) when you present camera calls it quits or you consider it lame (like the way I now feel about my S2Pro, although I still shoot with it esp for diving photos), you are likely to move to a Nikon based DSLR because of SB-800, AFS 17-55, AFS 70-200 VR, etc.
While the heart of the image is the digital system that ultimately produce the photo, thus by heart you are considered Fuji, the hardware of the system will all be Nikon based.
Ultimately whatever your heart tells you, you are still more Nikon than Fuji. Why do you think Nikon will allow Fuji to take a camera body and graft a Fuji imaging system there? To sell more lenses, speedlights and other accessories!

guys...does it really matter if we are more nikon than fuji or vice versa? Take it as a dslr that can produce great images out of the cam.
Don't think so much...just shoot.
I don't know. You must check it out yourself. However, I know that Nikon MB-D200 will take 4 AA batteries.
not sure about 3rd party grips. you need to get nikon's mb-d200 battery grip for the s5 pro. the grip can hold up to 2 fuji np-150 batteries or 6 AA batteries in a tray that comes with the grip. nikon batteries will not work.
fuji's raw files maybe twice the size of other brands' raw files, but the amount of additional information that you can retrieve from the fuji raw is really amazing.
i did several tests with s5 pro (25meg raw)

and later compared the results against nikon d3 (12meg raw):

If you read my posting #185 carefully, I did mention the word 'WIRELESS' commander.
To allow the photographer to use two NP-150 batteries simultaneously, or to switch to four AA size batteries when needed.
If you don't use a VR lens, you can get about 450 to 500 shots per charge easily. With a manual focus lens, 600 shots per charge is not a problem.
The 'beep' sound is turned off by default.
You can turn it on by SETUP > SYSTEM > BEEP > [HIGH]/[LOW].
A music note icon will appear on the camera's control panel.
For me, I have it remains [OFF] as the 'beep' sound is very annoying especially when shooting on streets.

Another consideration is, who does the repairs when the camera is out of order? It's a Nikon body with a Fuji sensor.
bro i read that mb-d200 is getting harder to get?
