Can anyone advise me on the E-P1 package.....

1) Does the white model comes with silver zoom lens or black colour?

2) Does the twin lens package comes withe the optical viewfinder?

1)I'm not entirely sure
2)Yes it does, even if you buy the single lens with the 17mm,it has the OVF

I still think the EP-1 is a good replacement for a compact

But maybe not dslr.

I may not get used to the fact there's no VF

I only miss the E-3 blazing fast AF. Other than that, I think E-P1 is a capable camera, and a DSLR replacement for those who do not need a fast AF camera. Art photographers, landscape shooters, etc. The "VF" is 3 inch big... cannot stick my eye to it... LOL!

i suppose you can use the usual RF viewfinders on it? any limitations in this regard?

Parallax. The usual RF finder issue.

Till date, I have found at least 17 csers selling the E-P1 in the B&S section. Just curious why is that so many are selling after only a short time (AF speed, no EVF, no built-in flash, prefer bigger/heavier camera, not small enough, waiting for E-P1 replacement, etc.)?

The EP-1 has almost replaced my 40D since the day I bought it. Haha. Maybe because I don't know how to appreciate the 40D ... or because I love the smaller E-P1 and the 17mm lens.

I guess some people buy to play around with, enjoy and now sell to fund buying newer toy?

i was surprise to see thats its selling for the price of a dslr...
if its not, i would have gotten one for myself...sigh...the 17mm lens and the compact size is realli ideal for bringing out on small gatherings...and some non photography trips...

anyone know where i could get a good deal for e-p1? pl pm me, gum sia~ :D

Update on E-P1 stock availability :

According to "almost official" sources, the next shipment should arrive in Singapore in the first week of September, or early second week of September. Do give a call to your favourite retailer or the usual retailers that regularly stock Olympus products like MS Color, Alan Photo, Cathay Photo, TK Photo, Courts, Audio House, Harvey Norman, etc... and place your order with them. And remind them in case they forget.

But we all know by now, with logistics, ships can suffer "flat tire" and arrive in port late, warehousing issues, etc... anything can go wrong, so this is just a rough gauge according to "almost official" sources. At least you know you don't have to wait until October... :bsmilie:

i would never consider bout it as i already have DSLR, but i dont't have dsrl at the 1st place...who knows..>.<

Hmm is the E-P1's IQ superior to a canon DSLR with L lens?

With a High Grade lens and better, definitely.

But fitting an E-P1 with a HG lens is like trying to mate a chihuahua with err... Godzilla! :sweatsm:

Hehehe.

then what comes out?Chizilla or Godhuahua? Actually find that still balance quite nicely from that time at Olympus, but they all look weird of course, with 7-14,weight is slightly heavy towards the front, but lenses like 14-54 feels ok actually

Must look at the question my friend. Canon with L lens leh.
How can I use a pancake and compare to L lens (in some case, actually can), its like asking the same driver to time challenge with a Toyota Echo versus a Benz SL500. How to compare? Other than getting a car of the same class to compare. In this case, of course, it is the HG lens and up.

Was not talking about how it looked, though E-P1 users should note that the 50-200mm SWD behaves weirdly on a E-P1.

50-200 SWD?The old 50-200 got problem?
