Maybe ... but I seriously doubt we'll be enjoying the usual bonuses and the periodic increments for end 2008 and 2009 at least ... :bheart:

Seriously, the key now is to keep the job. Increment and bonus is definately not on many people mind now.

I feel, keep the job or not. Not for us to decide.

J.O.B = Just Obey Boss.

They ask us to go, we got to go. Cos they got their J.O.B to keep as well. :bsmilie:

I have a job that has kept me in recession condition for 12 yrs heheh... I don't notice any difference....I am still awaiting that pink slip every day while doing the job of 6 people in various diverse depts. I think that is how I stayed so long thus far. You have not seen mutlitask till you walk a while in my stinking shoes heh. Planning a project one moment and delivering goods to customer the next...that's just the eay part.

We will weather this storm ...again lah....like it or not. Just need to tweak your mindset abit, dig deep and be ready to do more than abit more to keep afloat above those who can't (sorry survival of the fittest) or not willing to.

..........................

somehow i wonder if this thread & the other wan about foreign workers will merge. in tough times, on who's head will the axe fall on? :think: i hope its not going to be used as a reason to bump up productivity, instill a mindset of fear (of lossing job). :embrass:

No increment, no bonus still ok, as long as got a job.
But the job must be the one you like la.
If not, it will add on to the pain.
My side, if no projects, my boss will go mad and press us for like cost down, blah blah blah.. :thumbsd:

Sianz...:(

Don't be too idealistic and think in black and white leh. There are alot of grey areas in most of jobs out there. Don't think I DID say I don't like. But then I did not say I am totally in love with it either. Sometime if nothing better comes along..you still have to go do what you can to put food on the table. Multi task is something I have always been doing way before companies are using it as a buzz word. heh. While you might think me doing this to keep my job...trust me when I say...alot more ( friends and colleagues) are afraid of me more. I "spoil market" heheh... but look at the situation today almost 2 decades down. It is almost the norm.

Not exactly affecting my job but defintely affecting my comms.

The other thing dat is affecting me badly is the heavy paper losses which is enough to get me 2 combos of D3 + 14-24mm f2.8 + 24 - 70mm f2.8 + 70-200mm f2.8 + SB900. :cry::cry::cry:

No Ni*** plant in SG right?

Hehe, skali your boss also change the system like mine last minute...:bsmilie:

My company just did a round of increment for workers. They worked alot harder, knowing that amidst bad times, they get a pay hike.

Moving forward, the market sentiments are dampened after our leader announced the outlook for next 4Q.

I believe it is a good wake up call for everyone to be ready for the disastrous ride.

Many merchants will go on sale to grab consumers' dollars. Competition will be intense and you will witness people shouting at the top of their lungs to sell. Many more will be out of job.

These are the times when con artists emerge, theft will be common and counterfeit stuff will be a norm.

If we can pull through the next three years, we may see some light at the end of the tunnel. And hopefully, that light is the casino blinking, bringing back wealth to the country after all the leakages.

And, here is a nice article to read:
