Nikon, Sony... Almost the same sensor, really. ;)

But, in a N vs. C comparison, I'd have to agree that N is sturdier, except for the D40 series which feels like a toy (same as C 400D though)

D40 doesn't feel like a toy

nikon uses 10 years interval to do researches and development on its single digit F prof body....i think at this point it should be able to tell u how sturdy is nikon body.

another tips to tell u is..nikon designer the italian guy is a ferrari automobile designer, i think these tips should be able to tell u how solid is nikon and its argonomic holding.

kimu;p

Fiat designer, not Ferrari.

I build my house with nails and my D200 served as a hammer. The camera was ok. The house was not.

Anyway, I own both the D200 and 40D. I still prefer the D200 as it still feels more solid to me.

You are on the bit extreme side :bsmilie:
the most I used my D2x for was to hammer a snatch thief ;p

NPNT ;p

sometimes I wonder... the body is sturdier than the lens.. what is the point, when the lens usually will outlive the body

You can only uise the camera body in harsh condition that the lens can stand. And so far, I have no seen any lens built like a brick.

Also on a personal note-I was wondering if constant vibrations would shift the CCD/CMOS and cause misalignment? (So far hasn't happ to me, but this thought did enter my mind when I read this thread)

Very EDMW. :bsmilie:

I was making a personal reference based on my own experience. Therefore I don't see a point of having pictures of all my gears just to make a point or proof. You can find enough proof if you spend more time digging through all my threads.

I think the D2Xs should be pretty ok since NASA got a big batch of them for use in space. :)
