took some time to read through.
my stand:
the only thing that can represent a photographer is his portfolio. when someone asks to see ur portfolio, they want to see ur standards. to me its a confirmation that they are at least interested. i'll let my photos do the talking rather than me rattling off abt being a photographer for 10 years to prove i'm up to a job.
i support TS in her request to see the portfolio. i have always been a strong believer in self protection, especially for models. have seen, had known many cases where models have been scammed to do things(u guys can figure out what happened.) have went on head on arguments with a few members who tried to pull wool over other models. i rememebr one being someone wanting to bring models overseas and not willing to share his portfolio. dig up my past posts, shld be able to find. i believe his account was dereg.
i see no reason why the photographer has to hide. he is requesting the services of TS. TS has all reason to ask to view portfolio. the only reason i could think of are
1: he sucks. and he sucks bad.
2: he shoots nude etc and doesnt want u to see.
3: he is a gwc. end of story

#2 isn't a problem, i think.
if it is done tastefully and conscience is clear... as much as i cannot fathom the purpose of nude photography in life.. i can give that there is some amount of artistic value in it, since sufficient people claim that they can see it.

this guy is sure dodgy, if i am him and i have won awards, i would be definitely proud to show off my works (who isn't?) and to wow the model with his works.
just ignore this guy since he is so unwilling.

and I don't pay models, can only afford TFCD,
but I don't sponsor any wardrobe and you need find your own makeup artist,
I got no car, so you have to take MRT,
my fridge is empty, so you have bring your own green tea,
will you still take up my TFCD?

Viewing the ip would be as easy as abc for Mods. If it's dynamic ip, it may not be of much use at all.
Mods and admin do not need to "log" the ip as just a few clicks away, the ip can be show or consolidated. Mods and admins see a different format of this site from u and me!
Back to topic. If I'm with my work, I'll show it even without asking!

not only that... he claims to have 10 years of photographing experience.
let see, i also started photography (not serious type) in 2002 with a pns but got my dslr last year only (short of his by 2 years).
seeing his works and mine, both of us is as bad :bsmilie: (one look can see both of us dunno how Photoshop!) if he can win awards, how come i cannot? :angry: :angry: :angry: i need to pm him which contest he joined, maybe i should join also.

In all fairness, the only thing I can say in the so-called photog's favor is that, if he is willing to pay a model to help build a portfolio, then her asking for a portfolio is a chicken and egg scenario. If you go for a paid shoot, you are being paid to do a job and can't be too picky about the boss so long as they are not asking you to do anything against your ethics.
That's about all I can say though, because I think his concept of "award winning" is when his very drunk friends go "your pic is ok".
