Is it worth to still get a LX3

you mean the little birds in my flickr stream? my neighbour said they fell to the ground the first time they tried to fly but succeeded finally. they left the nest after about 1.5 weeks.

i got it for $680 (cash) with the mention about and also pay $30 more for a 52mm extension tube.


Have being playing it for a few day lao, damm nice. This will be my travel cam if i don't wish to bring out my 1Dmk3.

You might want to consider paying $3.00 for a hotshoe cover too

Actually thats the bundle set (LX3 + 8G SD + screen protector + mini tripod + SD card reader USB type + extra 3rd party battery) . Anyway there is no case included anymore inside the box. but there is a Lumix hard cover case for $30 if you want to buy. Comes with 2 color, black or blue. I did not purchase it cos found that its a bit to ugly .. hehehe

is that really the case? I am thinking of getting a LX3 too and was comparing it with s90. At the end of the day, it depends on which kinda photog you are and what kinda of image you normally shoot.

for the landscape and macro lovers, lx3 is the way to go

for those who like "cleaner" images, ease of carry and more versatile zooming, then s90 lor.

was told by MScolor that Panasonic will not release anymore LX3 replacement model since they are now concentrating on GF1. I got a feeling that s90's price will crash really soon... Canon PNS dun hold their value well due to the fast replacement rates!

So ya, still contemplating over to get the LX3 or not, knowing that it has been in the market for more than a year... also must depend if there's a year end bonus as well la! hahaa :angel:

i had to go a list of comparison here. :bsmilie:

is it just me or what, but I really dun like lx3 under artificial lighting. skin color goes haywire.
and canon handles skin color under artificial lighting perfectly!

i presume that u might have a habit to take pictures of your toys like myself.
LX3 definitely does not do a good job.
my good o' Canon IXUS 40 can do a better job. haha

SITEX? I wud never bother buying cameras there unless i like freebies that I hardly use

I concur about your review of the LX3.

The no zoom on the LX3 and the WB is a real PITA.

Those that have sold off their LX3 will not put up the feedback here.

The Canon S90 looks tempting.

Ha, ha, I think it is you...
Not had a WB problem with artificial lighting at all, and I'm using the new firmware.
At any rate even if there was a so called problem, a simple tweak in PP would solve it.

v2.1 provides only WB bracketing right? i think AWB evaluation values are still the same as production ver.
nevertheless, I PP most of my indoors using script,
solves the problem, but just an additional step before sharing.

otherwise, loving the 24mm of using it with SB600.
