i think the lens was for other bodies and not D300 in the last show.

iirc, the D300 came with the grip.

earlier i went to HN funan and checkout their Nikons and the fellow behind the counter told me about this "nikon sale", showed me the $2999 price tag of the bundle for D300, when he ask about the payment mode and i replied,, in "ca$h" he quickly get a calculator, pressed it few times and told me i could get the entier bundle with Nikon Warranty for $2550 with gst,,,,i almost bought it,,,sigh,,,

i was hopin nikon will have a boot in the i.t. show, and could have more freebies there,,,but reading above, made me feel goin back to HN,,,

can think of three reasons for this promotion:
1. GSS,
2. in case canon decide to put out new models now for GSS or during IT Show and
3. announcement of new models on the horizon.

i don't think its a D300 replacement. most likely the replacement for D80 and who knows, a low-price FX to compete directly with the 5D.

Thinking of buying the D300 but i dont really want all the freebies... anyone interested in the freebies only? Maybe i get the package and sell the freebies away like 50mm and the SB800 which i already have. I dont need the tripod and 4gb card (but can keep) also.
