Is it worth buying from "Great Nikon Sale - ST"

Hey, me and a friend ( who was interested in getting the D300 ) was down at Sim Lim to check out on the Great Nikon Sale package. Surprisingly we were quoted roughly about $2800 and was given a much cheaper price for the SB800 ( original price was $399 rite? ). So the total package turns out to be more worth it then when you get each item individually. You guys might want to check out with some of the dealers to see if you can get a better deal on the packages.

So seems like the retails price is the standard price for all and it's up to you to bargain for more discount. Any other bro here can go check out with your usual dealer/shop to see if they are giving out the same deal too?

that's normal. even IT or PC show price is fixed, shops outside selling below show price. it's what the price you can get that counts.

i love conspiracy theory. could be clearing stocks for new models coming or may be a marketing ploy to kill the white side before the IT show in two weeks time.

i was at the Nikon service center earlier to repair my camera and saw the great nikon sale promotion poster there. i was trying to find out if this promotion will be the same for the upcoming PC Show in june. But i was told by the staff there that Nikon will not be going in for the PC show this year! Last yr, the package was pretty fix at the show... seems like Nikon is giving more flexiblity this time round?

I believe the price didn't really drop. You can take recent Nikon's promo price as a reference. I believe the recently price dip is mainly due to dealers slashing each other. Internet is not really a good technology for them....

earlier i went to HN funan and checkout their Nikons and the fellow behind the counter told me about this "nikon sale", showed me the $2999 price tag of the bundle for D300, when he ask about the payment mode and i replied,, in "ca$h" he quickly get a calculator, pressed it few times and told me i could get the entier bundle with Nikon Warranty for $2550 with gst,,,,i almost bought it,,,sigh,,,

i was hopin nikon will have a boot in the i.t. show, and could have more freebies there,,,but reading above, made me feel goin back to HN,,,
