Swee

Good news to DX Cam and Lens owner.Well Done Nikon.

Think the price is key to the success of the launch, otherwise what's the big difference compared to the existing 12-24?

Proofs that Nikon is not abandoning their mainstream DX followers just yet.

Good news to all!

Now for some DX primes (14mm) :)

The AF-S DX-NIKKOR 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED will be available at Nikon authorized dealers beginning May 2009 at an estimated selling price of $899.95*. For more information, please visit www.nikonusa.com.

Still very expensive de

Heh, guess I was roughly right on the price.

Not so right on it being a Tamron rebadge though; it has 14 elements in 9 groups vs 12 elements in 9 groups for the Tamron. Could be a redesign of the Tamron, or a new one. Regardless it better be less soft than the Tamron is wide open.

so the rumour i posted in an earlier thread here was true... great!

price being on the high side i suppose to be expected but so long as the performance is better than other alternatives i suppose it's worth paying for it
