Its a good start for a newbie, do more research on other brands though, you will find choices better than this, like Pentax Kx and Kr, Nikon D3100 or Sony A33, A55 or within Canon itself, eg. 550D
any experts ?
I guess within your budget for the body just get the best you can afford so that you need not have to consider upgrading if you need better specs in the near future.
When I started out this hobby in dec 09 I was considering this and 500D and I thought I should spend more to get 500D as it has better specs like ISO etc. Now I am struggling a little with 500D's ISO performance and luckily I didn't get 1000D that time.
Lens, again depends on your budget. 18-55 kit lens is a good one for starter but of course there will be people encouraging you to get a better lens right from the start such as tamron 17-50 etc.
what about nikon d5000 kit?its got the very basic features to take a decent photo, good for a start
chercm said:you mean it is not good enough ?
what about nikon d5000 kit?
No. Go get Canon EOS 5D Mk2. :bsmilie:
I'm kidding. I think its worthwhile lah. Nothing much to lose or depreciate if u in the end decide not to continue with photography.
which one u talking about ?
Read the "What DSLR to get?" Sticky first. Basically, considering your obvious total lack of skill and inability to make your own decisions, get whichever feels best in your hand. You will be the limit, not the camera, for the foreseeable future.
no need to get personal here
again an example of newbie bullying... tsk tsk...
Nope. No bullying. Simple cold truth. Bullying would be something else, but you can go ahead and wave your crusade flag again.
considering your obvious total lack of skill and inability to make your own decisions
how could this be cold truth? how did you gauge the lack of skill are you really sure that you are that good?
regardless of how the question may sound to you there was no need for the personal attack
we were all newbies at one time...
