another shot of Sherena
Ah Sherena again  .. nice post..
Every time I look at your IR skin tone, I begin to form the picture of the skin tone colour in my mind.
Good. Good.
You're fuelling my enthusiasm to venture towards this aspect one day.
Please don't misunderstand. This is NOT a criticism or insult.
Am I correct to say that IR portraits will mostly/always make skin look pale, cool-ish and a bit corpse-like? Or is it the nature of this method of IR portrait post-processing?
Looking back

A shot of florence with the landscape behind her. As usual, I welcome all C&Cs.![]()
oh boy, this one really exposes the truth about her eyelashes. :bsmilie: maybe you should try to color it back in or something!
i thought this one used the ir characteristics better than closeups. maybe crop off the right a bit though, that bg peeking through can be distracting.
if only that tree was one solid trunk, it would make it a lot better, but you can't really transform trees...
what timing was this though, either you have put her in the shade, or it is noon-time.
personally, i think other than certain themes involving costumes it is hard to make an ir portrait stand on its own for more than just being "different".
It can be good, it can be bad; I have trouble with eyes because sometimes people can look ghostly.
It is very good for skin tones, smooths imperfections and produces very high contrast black and whites (due to lightening the skin). For people with light hair you don't get the altered hair look.
But hard yes I agree; there's a lot of IR that stands just because it's "different".
I do like some of the images in this thread though![]()
