Hi mod,

I am wondering if my ipod sale thread on the other accessories forum was deleted yesterday.

I posted it up yesterday and today gone.

I thought ipod video is a of photo storage (portable harddisk and can connect camera directly once you get the camera connector) and should be allowed for sale on clubsnap right? It is the next version of ipod photo.

Just to confirm that it is not against the rules b4 posting another for sale thread.

hi,

able to view photo or not, not of a issue, but because iPod is made for mp3, and its not a photo viewer by default.

unless you say u are selling a photo viewer like those from nikon and etc, then its legal, other wise. IHMO, ipod i still a mp3 player no matter what functions it has inside.

and btw, no cf card reader for it wad... if there is, then it will be an entirely different issue.

hope that will answer ur question.

;)

? But I used it as portable storage on my Trips to store pictures.... You can buy a connector for it and it can connect directly to your camera. Why you need CF card reader? I don't understand why the issue becomes ENTIRELY DIFFERENT after you add a CF slot. Both can connect and download pictures out on the field and there a quite a number of CS members who uses this as portable photo storage. BTW, ipod video was ipod PHOTO and apple just renamed it.

BTW, is this the stand of CS or your "personal" opinon. If personal opinon, then no pont lah. No offense but am I not asking for "personal" opinons here as I also got my personal opinons :) Just want to know the official rules of the foum so I can follow them.

personal stand point.

true. your purpose maybe to store photos. but others like me see it like mp3. thats probably how the mods see it.

no la. i said IF it came with a cf card slot den different issue. ;)

4. Do not post non-photographic items - any such posts will be removed without prior notice or warning to poster.

The following is a list of what can be advertised in Buy & Sell (list is not exhaustive and will be updated from time to time).

Photography-related items are those items that are primarily designed to be used in the course of creating your images (whether digital or film), thus, by using the above definition the following items will qualify as photography-related:-
  • Film/Digital Cameras (SLRs, Point & Shoots, Digicams, Video Cameras)
  • Flashes
  • Studio paraphernalia
  • Tripods, tripod heads, ballheads
  • Camera Lenses
  • Lens attachments and filters
  • Films
  • Camera bags
  • Batteries and battery chargers
  • CF Cards/Readers
  • Photo Printers (note word Photo)
  • Digitising tablets
  • Scanners (slide/film and specialised flatbeds)
  • Darkroom equipment
well.. i do not see any photo transfer mediums ?

so wait till the mods come and discuss with you. since you want to see ur ipod, why not go to MacUserGroups and HWZ to sell ? theres more market and demand there. ;)

Just to reiterate glennyong's correct summation - the video/photo ipod was not primarily designed for photography, thus under the current guidelines, are not eligible to be advertised for sale in our Marketplace forums.

Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.

thanks for the clarification. Maybe you guys might want to make that thread sticky in the "other accessories" marketplace where there is the most confusion.

Can I ask if PMP like Zen vision or Epson P2000/P3000 are allowed for sale? They are pretty similar to Ipod Video... Zen Vision is not designed for photography but I think the P3000 IS DESIGNED for the photographer in mind. The P3000 brochere I had is all about photography.

Just a feedback, personally I feel that portable storage is as essential as my lens when I go overseas. Almost every photographer will require some form of portable storage actually.

Actually, the list of allowed items are displayed when you try to create a new thread as part of the form-based posting method where you you have to agree to the Terms & Conditions of posting before proceeding.

I guess most people just click through without reading/comprehending - maybe we should put a clause in there that states we collect 50% in royalties for each concluded sale and that all photos taken with the equipment sold in our forums belongs to ClubSNAP ...... :bsmilie: .... JOKING!!!!!!! :bsmilie::bsmilie:

I did not notice that. I see that terms and conditions like so many times so just click only :)

that is why. but not your fault also la.. i do that also.

problem is that the TnC is too wordy...
maybe can introduce a very pictographical contract of terms ? see pictures and u understand ??
