It's already available for pre-order and delivery on 24 June in some countries and sold out in the U.S.A. already for the 24th.

Apple is rolling out the iP4 in different stages.. US and 4 other countries released on the 24th June while 18 more countries (SG included) will be end July. and more in Aug/Sep..
btw only the black is available for now (in their first roll out). ahh. i hope by time it hits sg both black n white will be available!
and definitely hope the telco will get their act together considering the blunders on the pre-orders and underestimating of supplies here.. :sticktong
Apple selling iPhones direct, 3GS left with 8GB @ $748. yay, means if buy direct from apple, get TRUE service from them and not from some in-competent telco. :sticktong

Hi guys, after upgrading to the new OS4 for my iP3GS, I've found that most of the changes that will come with iP4 are present in my iP3GS, like multi-tasking, organisation of individual icons in folders, digital zoom for built-in camera, character count for SMSes, able to change the desktop screen, spell check function, iBook app, etc.
The only difference between iP4 and iP3GS is now the hardware, like 2 cameras (front and back), screen with higher resolution (acutally 3GS is already very good) and design difference for the iP4. Other than that, I don't see a need to go for the upgrade.
If I were to upgrade one of these days, the ONLY driving factor will be the battery life of the 3GS. However, we have yet to determine how the battery of the iP4 performs.
And, one thing I am not sure about the OS 4 is how the OS manages the multi-tasks applications. Does this consumes much more battery than before if we leave all the opened applications in the lists? Do we have to kill them everytime we finished using to conserve battery, or it will manage the apps by itself? And what happens if we don't kill them?
I would suggest for the budget constraint, stay put until the iP4 goes cheaper, but proceed to upgrade to OS4 for your current 3GS. Of course, people who buy iPhones will be very tempted by the new design, and $ is not always a concern. If budget is never an issue, then by all means. :bsmilie:

No, you're not the only one. I feel it too. Guess that the memory management is allocating a slot for any apps that you have launched, and if you have not killed it, and if you relaunched it, the app will be there from the memory slot.

yesterday 6pm 100% & 11pm left 40%.... after I figure out how to enable char count in sms & how the multitask, there were already 10~20app running @ the background

Exactly. If not, then we'll all be wasting precious memory and battery. Hope there's a way to disable the multi-tasking options.

I just got the OS4 updated on my 3GS, lovely!
So technically speaking, if we dont close the apps, it makans battery pretty quick huh?
I did notice in your photos folder as well, the phone remember's where you took all the pictures around the World with drop pins on the world map.
I've had pins all over UK & China & Singapore, which was the places I have been lately with me Iphone.
I kinda like the folders the Iphone creates, makes the screen less cluttered.
You can select background wall papers for the home screen & lock screen as well.
