iPhone 4 is OUT!

From the Apple SG site, it seems to me that only the first batch of iP 4 are affected by the antenna issue. Looks like those batches after Sept 30 will be resolved.

It looks to me that Apple is doing something to the phone internally to resolve the reception issue. Of course, they will not admit if asked, but looking at that line that says "To qualify for this program, you must purchase your iPhone 4 by September 30, 2010.", they are confident that their current stock will be depleted by 30 September, and new stocks with the correction (made internally) will not have this problem, thus it will be stupid of them to issue phone cases then.

Also, they rather issue out a bumper/case than recall their current stock, as this will help them reduce their cost, as they know from the initial release, a lot of Apple 'followers' will sure line up and buy their product no matter what defects it has. :bsmilie:

So will you still buy? :sweatsm:

where did u buy it from? i got mine from M1 n they activated it on the spot for me

i see.....perhaps try giving starhub hotline a call to chase them to activate the phone for you? not sure why something that M1 could do in 1 minute on their computer would take 24hrs for starhub. Maybe the hougang mall retailer has not sent your iphone details for activation yet

Oh they have to send in the iphone details for activation? Perhaps that's the reason why.. Gonna head over to Hougang Mall and check it out with the retailer later..

that's what i'm assuming since you bought it from a retailer in hougang instead of directly from starhub, as the telco should have the ability to activate the phone on the spot. Perhaps the retailer needs to get starhub to activate the phone.

I passed by the retailer this morning and there was a poster sign that says the iphone 4 is out of stock.

Enjoy..;)

No one seems to have checked the iphone's camera.

I did a simple test at the shop at Suntec yesterday. Comparing it with my 3Gs model, the camera seems to be much better. The contrast is definitely so much better and sharpness seems to be somewhat better too.

And of course, just looking at the screen, it is almost like 3D to me compared with what I have. Too bad that I still have to wait like 6 more months before I can upgrade to this new model. In the mean time, the backlog would clear and also, some of the problem like antenna or whatever would be solved by then,.

i really don't understand this part.

it says the reserved iphone 4 is ready for collection. then again, it says the purchase is subjected to availability. so, if ready for collection... means got stock right?

at any case, the telco has no right to give up the reserved iphone 4 until the person who reserved it says otherwise.

it might be a standard disclaimer.

let's put it this one, 100 sets available, 100 reserved.

1 guy goes home, finds out his set got missing camera.. swaps for new one.

in which case, 100 sets available, but only 99 working sets (and potentially less) for the 100 reservations.

i don't think it is also astute to "plan" for such errors, so they will just put a standard disclaimer, i suppose.

When I called M1 shop at AMK Hub to ask whether I can collect my iPhone 4, they said they have no stock available.

They said I must call M1 hotline and ask where they have stock at any point of time, but no guarantee that I will get it.

Then what is the point of sending me the email asking me to collect my stupid phone. Fedup.

why don't you make a bit of noise and ask them what's the purpose of the email when everything is out of stock? see what they reply.

Starhub just now called me to collect my iPhone 4 that I had reserved from Plaza Singapura roadshow.

But I am not going. I prefer my HTC Desire.
