Introduction to Japanese RF lenses.

ok ok.. I know there are many experts here on this topic but personally, Im more German hence I seldom find myself indulging into the Japanese realm. Other than the dream lens f0.95 and the beautiful hexanon f1.2 (which I had the pleasure of owing 3 new pieces awhile back)

So far both lenses are best in what they do. I like the Hex especially. Ultra smooth transition from sharp to blur. And the colours on slide film... pure sex.

I did a lens test on various aperture on this baby which you can check below. Hope it can help you conclude on this lens.
Now, the big ???.

What is the good legendary Japanese lens to get?
1. Pre-war Sonnar f1.5
2. Canon 50mm f1.2

what do you guys think of Tanar f2 and Fujinon f1.2

Im not sure if the japanese made any sonnars pre-war, I think doc would know better but heres a couple from my CZJ Sonnar50 1.5 LTM (pre-war)

if I start collecting these I wonder when I will stop ;(
by the good part is they are not that astronomical in price compared to German other than the Fujinon 1.2 of course. MINT MINT MINT. thats my weak point ;(

I had the Hexanon50f1.2 & Hexanon60f1.2 before, I prefer the rendition of the Hex60f1.2.

I don't think there's any pre-war Sonnar from Japan. Most, if not all LTM lenses are from the 1950's (post-war).
