I once paid over US$60 for a 100 minutes package to use the internet on a cruise ship, this worked out to be about US$0.60 per minute. The connection latency was around 1000 ms and internet speed just slightly slower under 56 kbps. :bsmilie:

If you know that hotel, got to pay for internet access, will you be moody after learning that?

I am going to Beijing soon. This morning, my tour guild told me that we going to another hotel instead. He then told me, this hotel (5*), got to pay for internet access! Whereby the previous hotel, offer free internet! :bheart:

In nowadays world, unless remote area, I feels that internet should be FOC. The hotel which I going stays, charge 85RMB per day!!! More than what we paying here. I think I am getting a SIM card over there n let my mobile BB do the job.

So, without internet for 1 wk, can you take it?

I'LL DIE WITHOUT IT HAHA.

i dunno but. sometimes the only way to contact ppl (without burning a hole in ur pocket) when ur overseas is to use msn and free internet. when i was in tw, i lugged a laptop, dslr, tripod etc just so tat i can do wadeva i need there. hehe. kudos to free and easy tours.

and i could still be contactable via sms, or msn. wahaha.

Actually, I think Singapore is neither cheap nor accessible. Even our neighbours Malaysia (KL at least) is some ways ahead of us in providing public connectivity.

But I've never been to Europe, so I don't know about there. :D

not too bad la, at least changi airport has wireless@sg free.

heathrow airport charges, i think 6 gbp for usage, don't know how long.

85rmb = S$17.. quite cheap for 5* hotel leh. At Jakarta Grand Hyatt, I pay around US$20 for Internet on a 24hr basis.

I miss my FaceBook games!!!:bheart:

I dun think u can access facebook in china.. correct me if I am wrong.. That's what I read last time..

You can use a high anonymity (HiAnon) proxy server with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption for that. ;)

There used to be a rather popular high-speed in-flight internet service known as "Connexion By Boeing (CBB)", it had been discontinued by Boeing due to a lack of demand from the airline industry.

Many other third party companies have since started to provide similar services by picking up the "many pieces" that "Connexion By Boeing (CBB)" had left behind. ;)
