:what: ...... can't imagine that, in fact i use it a lot for events and weddings because of the AF. were there diff versions made for this lens?

Actually I mean to say that it's not always very accurate... are u using the 7D? I think it's better for the 5D...

works ok on the 7d, haven't used it on the 5d yet, but no probs/ issues with AF on the 7d and pics are tack-sharp. better than 18-70, tried that with some problems on the 7d...

Saw a KM mount Tamron 17-50 / 2.8 at TK.

So may I have the pleasure to try it on your behalf? ;p

i bought for a event tomorrow... if i dun feel like keeping it, maybe i sell to u... hehe...

mine 5 year warranty...

 Share the details....don't just show us the  head!

Try the yahoo auctions and ebay. Currently, the CS Marketplace is a little saturated...

Or maybe try emailing it to the A-mount user list?

Yup... Nobody seems interested in my beercan and 5600hs(d) also.

On a different note: The 50mm Macro is an amazing lens. Having own all three Minolta 50mm. I think that's the best of the 3.

3?

50mm f1.4, 50mm f1.7 & 50mm f2.8 macro? got compare with 50mm f3.5 macro bo?

if its RS, i chiong liao, too bad... or better still, the D..

Never own the F3.5 so can't compare. Anyhow the F3.5 goes only 1:2. Colour and contrast of F2.8 macro is  compared to 50/1.7 and 50/1.4 (all three are very sharp lens)

If anyone have a F3.5, maybe we can organise a session for a shootout of the 50mm. I still have the F1.4 and F2.8

For the 50mm Macro the main difference of RS and non-RS is the focus limit switch and circular aperature. Desirable features to have.

One concern is the RS contains rubbery material on the lens body and focus ring. I have the feeling that these materials will degrade over time. The rubber on my friend's 24-105 seems to feel a little funny (feels a little harder and colour turning darker) after about 5 yrs. Some of the RS 50/1.7 also feels a bit funny to hold.

imo, the non-RS is the most solid because it's fully metal.. i think in general the first generation of minolta lens is very well buit, like beercan which i previously owned..

Very good price.
