I will see if i can bargain the price down anot mah..if got a few (comfirm) buyers, say the price around $750 to $800 is a good price for a f2.8 lens right?

one is less then $800, ssm is 3K ley..price is so much diff..

Ok... I am a little bias as I have use 70-200 f2.8 SSM and Tamron 70-210 f2.8 lens. So my opinion is based on comparing these 2 lenses and to be fair, I had to say it will also depend on the sample variation (one I used to have may not be the best copy).

Basically to match the sharpness and resolution (no scientific study, judging from actual photo only), Tamron lens needs to be stop down to f3.5 or f4 is even better.

To be honest, I expect a lot from a f2.8 zoom lens, if I can't use it at f2.8 then there is no point for it. I am rather dissapointed with KM 28-75 f2.8 D lens at f2.8, hence I seldom using the lens anymore. Desperately waiting for CZ 24-70 f2.8.

Ok, focussing speed is better than beercan (because it is brighter at f2.8).

Build quality is great

Basically, if you are desperate for a f2.8 lens, then it will be great at the given price...

Just my opinion....

At that price, the Tamron is even less than the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 which last I heard sells for around $1,500.00. It's a good deal and I am interested even though I already have the beercan.
 

Does anyone know anything about a 70-210mm f3.5-4.5 Tamron lens for Minolta mount? I've tried searching high and low on the net and even dyxum.com has no record of it. I've got my paws on one and am puzzled by it. Hope someone can shed some light on it.
 

hooted something from SSC... hehe... and hooted another 10+3+5 item from SSC, coming in next month... woot!

Not mine.

For those into macro and require a longer reach this is the lens to consider... reasonable price for a warranty set. I had a hard time looking for a good 2nd hand copy outside Singapore and now it pop up after I got it... http://forum.clubsnap.com/showthread.php?t=234510
