What was your price, and package like? With the extended 2 yr warranty? I was asking yesterday and it seemed like its so 'flexible'. Salesman said "err... I can throw in a 1gb card, and I think the warranty also no problem"

Yah, can even customise the deal o match MS color's. Cannot tell as I know the sales person, so may b i get slightly better deal...:)

wah, the definitive answer to which one to choose - and I like the last sentence! No wonder why I always hear about SB800 and not SB600.

Only if you use those functions he mention. I have seen many useres using SB800 when I asked them about CLS most of them know nuts or had not tried at all. If you have the extra $$ go ahead buy it. Buying it first or second make no different unless you use it to the fullest.

There is a diff. Buy first, learn to use the function slowly. Rather than buy SB600 then upgrade later...

I have to kinda agree with what looka is saying. Assuming that cash is limited, at least to me it is, there is no point spending all the dough if you will not use the added and better functionality. Better look at what you need before spending the cash.

Anyway, I do have many friends who are still very happy with their SB600.

I know im gotta get shot by saying this... if you do look at other forums such as DPreview, most of them usually will say just settle with sb600 unless those real pro who really do CLS all the time. Seems like CS got a stronger of BBB bug than other foreign forums

anyway im one of the :) sb600 owner

actually to do CLS you need a commander and a flash
since the D80 can be the commander then a SB600 can be the remote flash

and if you want to go more advanced then add more flashes
but unless you need the extras of the SB800 then the SB600 is enough

look at the Wireless Remote Speedlight SB-R200s
they cannot do much on it's own, but work great as remote flashes.
the SB600 is a lot better than the Wireless Remote Speedlight SB-R200s.
