Along the trek, one would come across volleyball courts in the strangest of spaces and places (even at the altitude of 4000+ metres at the base camp).

The above was captured at the relatively warmer area of Chommrong (2170m).

We missed a turn-off that rejoined the main route and arrived at Ghrujung area by mistake. It turned out to be a 'good mistake' as the location was overlooked by big trekking groups. There is a good chance of you having the whole lodge to yourself.

Most lodges are family-run, we ended up eating dinner and watching tv with the local family.

Finally back after four weeks in Nepal, overall it was a wonderful trip, with many photo opportunities.

The only down part is that now I am trying to recover hundreds of photos from a corrupted 16GB CF card, so will try to work around this limitation and post in a coherent order as much as possible.

As usual, C&C is welcomed, including discussion on the trip. :)

Beautiful shots mate

Thanks guys. :)

For those who intend to visit the city of Pokhara in Nepal. I have one eating place to recommend.

Its called the Asian Teahouse (located near Korean restaurant named Sarang Hankook).

Cheap and delicious food, friendly family-run place. It's a hidden gem among the touristy area of Pokhara.

Wanting to try out different stuff, its not often that my friend and I return to the same place for meals; for this shop, we visit it for NINE meals. Eventually, my friend, who has an interest in cooking was given private cooking lessons by the owner.

Being a small place with only 8 chairs available, more often than not, you will need to share your tables during meal times; its thus also a great place to meet many other backpackers.

I think the record for us was 7 nationalities in the 8 chairs (Singapore, Nepal, China, Taiwan, S. Korea, Belgium, Japan). :bsmilie:

PS: Ask the owner about the wild honey he is selling, its quite a revelation.

This is a stunner, the mountains appearing as if magically over the huts. As always, enjoyed reading through ur thread.

Ryan

Hi Ryan, always great to have you dropping by. :)

The mountains were actually orange at the time, it was a tough choice between the coloured and B&W version.

It can get pretty cold at night on the trekking route, the relatively warm dining room can actually be the most comfortable place to hang out.

Thanks guys for looking. It was really a fruitful journey indeed, even when I was too tired bring my camera out to take photos, just immersing in the sceneries was enjoyable enough.

Moments earlier, this young boy was happily playing fighting sticks with his friend. Then things got rough and the friend was dragged away crying. All that was left was an expression of regret and boredom

Waiting for sunrise at on Poon Hill watch tower.

It was freezing cool up there, and the small stand selling hot drinks was doing a roaring business.

Thankfully, my friend and I did this leg at the end of the trip, where we were physically more conditioned. We passed by serveral groups who were out of breath halfway up the hill.

We had waited for a long time for a bus to take us to a town an hour away; the one that was willing to take us had space only on the roof.

The locals were pretty amused to the role reversal of foreigners siting on the roofs of buses.
