Important points to look out for when buying 2nd hand equipments?

Looking at the buy n sell section, was quite tempted by the offers. Especially the EOS 10D
But then, I never buy any 2nd hand photography equipments b4, so are there important points that I must take note of other than the conditions of the items?
Like warranty and etc etc?

Make sure it comes with a receipt.

Shoot a few shots, go back and check for dead pixels, if purchasing lenses, check the optics for scratches etc.

Other stuffs are as per normal I guess, warranty, cosmetics.

Look for scratches, cuts, rough handling. Look for spots that are moveable. Make sure the receipts are there, if there are no receipts, at least ask the seller to give you some warranty.

make sure the owner is not getting rid of the 10D because his has backfocusing problems. Using your own lens... test for backfocusing.
