Have done some research and from Polar28's photos, this lens is in my shopping list now.

Tried a lens today at a shop. However, below is what I encountered.

Anyone can explain what's wrong with this lens? The above is a burst shot and there seem to have this green tinge that runs down the image.

Even as I do normal shoot, with various settings, the green tinge still appears randomly.

I did the shoot on the same subject with my 24-105 and doesn't seem to have this problem. I'm using a 6D btw.

If not for this problem, I would have gotten this lens as it was a damn sharp copy with no AF issues. And unfortunately they do not have another copy for me to test.

Please advise, so I can go elsewhere to get with more confidence.

Looks like a white balance issue. I dun have this problem using the 35 on mark3

I'm guessing its not the lens itself. What was ur shutter speed? There is something about old bulbs that give u weird colours due to their low freq. Try like 1/60?

look at the last 2 pages of this thread and you will see the explanations of the issue. not related to the lens. is the lighting and physics.

My 6D was on AWB and it doesn't occur with any of my other lenses. If its white balance issue shouldn't it affect the whole image?

Thanks for the enlightenment.

Looking at other photos I have, at ISO640 1/200, they look alright. About 1/320 onwards the green starts to appear.

Learnt something new, perhaps I should go down to other shop to try if indeed the phenomenon occurs.

Think it's because of the fast shutter speed that caused this under the lighting

It is for sure due to fluorescent lighting there. Try shooting lower shutter speed. Nothing to do with the lens. Any lens at that lighting condition and shutter speed will have such problem.

For flor lighting, best to keep your shutter speed at 1/100s or below to avoid this problem.

I noticed the object in photo is further than what I see with my eye. Is this the nature of wider angle lens? Sorry, I don't have other wide angle lens to compare. Hope I can get advice here.

Anyone here have got this lens in Pentax mount?

Yes, that is right. with wide angles things look further away.

The focal length that gives a view similar to our own eyes is 43mm.

Hi Guys....just managed to get my hands on this lens.....I am blown away by the bokeh and as well as the speed of the AF on this lens....can't wait to test it out at night to see how "round" the bokeh balls are.......hahahahaha
